Random Musings: February 2016

http://ianwardells.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html

Monday, 29 February 2016. Reading novels when I was a child. It's peculiar, but as an adult I very rarely can be bothered to read a novel again. As a child I used to read the same books over and over and over again, especially Enid Blyton books. Maybe once a year I would read all the famous Five, all the 8 adventure books, the 15 Fatty books etc. And the Narnia and Jennings books over and over again. Monday, February 29, 2016. Random Musings: May 2016

http://ianwardells.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, 26 May 2016. Does eating fat make you fat? The National Obesity Forum and the Public Health Collaboration recently demanded a “major overhaul” of dietary guidelines. Random Musings: March 2016

http://ianwardells.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 28 March 2016. In the far future. I wonder what it will be like in the year 802,701? Or in the 111,394th Century approximately 11 million years from now? Will human beings be long gone? Will there still be complex life on Earth? Or will the Earth be wholly devoid of life due to some catastrophic event? Such an event will surely be very unlikely. Perhaps gigantic creatures like dinosaurs will exist then. I'll probably never know. Monday, March 28, 2016. Saturday, 26 March 2016. I'd just like to sa...

Random Musings: September 2016

http://ianwardells.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, 29 September 2016. Elon Musk has a plan to send a million people to colonize Mars. Elon Musk thinks we'll get to Mars by the 2020's. Read here. It sounds fanciful but Musk, in typical Musk fashion, gave a hugely optimistic timeline for the first launch – 10 years from now, around 2026 or even as early as 2024. Yikes. However, I do think we'll get there eventually. I estimate that a human -. Most probably a woman -. Will first step on the surface of. The 20th J u. Thursday, September 29, 2016.

Mainly philosophical issues especially pertaining to the mind-body problem. I think this is an interesting metaphor which I thought I’d share! From The Asian Parent. Originally written in Hungarian by Útmutató a Léleknek,. Translated by Miranda Linda Weisz. In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: Do you believe in life after delivery? The other replied, Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later. I want in th...

Ian Ward Photography

I have always been interested in photography but have only just returned to it after 18 years! Marriage and children have taken most of my time, and money! I remember borrowing my parents Kodak 126 camera that took very "soft" black and white images, but enjoying it none the less. The thrill of getting the images back from the lab is still with me today, but is replaced by getting the memory card into the computer as soon as possible. 2015 Ian Ward Photography.
