Dr Alex Lancaster, Principal Scientist. Dr Alex K. Lancaster is an evolutionary biologist, engineer, writer and consultant. He is a Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute. And a Partner at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Amber Biology. Dr Lancaster received his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley. In Computational and Genomic Biology and has been a researcher at the Santa Fe Institute. The University of Arizona. And the Whitehead Institute. At MIT and was faculty member at Harvard Medical School.

Welcome to the Eisen Lab. We apply a diverse array of approaches drawn from evolutionary and computational genomics, imaging, neuroscience, developmental biology, biochemistry and genetics to the vinegar fly Drosophila melanogaster. And its relatives to understand how animal embryos develop and how microorganisms manipulate animal behavior. We train scientists who are comfortable at the bench, at the computer and in the field, and who accept no boundaries in pursuit of the questions that interest them.
