Saturday, 8 August 2015. Waking up at five this morning I was able to reflect that today was a normal day.the first one for weeks! I went straight back to sleep for a couple of hours! Now awake I can be quietly content. My car arrived home finally yesterday and although I gulped when I paid for all the repairs it has given me massive satisfaction to be able to go out and pat it! He will be back on Monday! Yesterday I actually listened to a sales call on my mobile.instead of simply switching it off! The L...

Wednesday, 28 November 2012. Quote for the Day. God in the child in the manger. God comes. The Lord Jesus comes. Christmas comes. Christians rejoice! To be early with my Nativity scene suddenly seemed a wise, but convicting thought. I had kept it around for the sake of convenience, what about the sake of remembering? Jill Carattini, managing editor of A Slice of Infinity at Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia - from A Slice of Infinity emailing, 28th November 2012. To her child, s...

A Letter from Home. Saturday, 1 August 2015. Saturday 1st August - Another tidy-up job in progress. We were "early-adopters" of home computing, and once the children were born (a long time ago now) the computer lived in a corner of the sitting room. The actual corner has varied from time to time, but at the moment, and for the last I dunnamany years it has stayed in the same place. I say "it" - the techy stuff has been rebuilt, upgraded, reconfigured and whatevered every couple of years. They really look...

A Letter from Home: Monday 3rd August - The comfortable cat
http://a-letter-from-home.blogspot.com/2015/08/monday-3rd-august-comfortable-cat.html
A Letter from Home. Monday, 3 August 2015. Monday 3rd August - The comfortable cat. This cat and I have been at war for several months now. It really doesn't matter what arrangements I make for my own comfort - she assumes I've done it for her. MY footstool (because the cat wanted the other half ov my settee all the time so I couldn't curl up properly). My latest patchwork quilt, made using on old fleece cot blanket, for keeping ME warm in the evening. Putting it on the bottom shelf of the new trolley ha...

Pachyderm: home by another way. Explorations, musings, and wonderings along the path of life. I have been there. One of my uni friends loaned me 84 Charing Cross Road. Many years ago when I was a student. I didn't know the author at all but immediately resonated with her love of all things literature and all things England. The sequel, The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street. Includes a description of Helene Hanff's passion for England - how she used to go to movies just to see English streets and buildings.

Pachyderm: home by another way: Booking
http://pachydermnz.blogspot.com/2015/07/booking.html
Pachyderm: home by another way. Explorations, musings, and wonderings along the path of life. Tonight, we finished it. The awesome bit was that originally I had put most of the Hogwarts/Harry Potter tour photos. On two pages, and the British Museum. Stuff on one page. When I got to the end of the album, I had two pages unused - so I was able to insert those pages into the centre of the book and give the museum and tour a lot more space. In there, one from the National Rail Museum. And it looks very good.
