Blogging from Abuja, Nigeria. Thursday, 7 July 2011. Successful presentation at NPHCDA. Dr Pate, Exec. Director in the center. I am happy to say that our final presentation at NPHCDA was very well received and the agency was happy. They thanked and appreciated us for coming up with their strengths, gap analysis and the recommendations. Ann and Lawrence from CDC were present at the presentation. Over all I would like to highlight that this was a good experience at Abuja and I will remember it for ever.

Big Blue in Abuja: 3 More Days in Nigeria
http://bigblueinabuja.blogspot.com/2011/07/3-more-days-in-nigeria.html
Big Blue in Abuja. Tuesday, July 5, 2011. 3 More Days in Nigeria. I leave Abuja this Friday night. Part of me can't believe the four weeks are nearly over and another part is so ready for a week of vacation! To all who thought the CSC was like a vacation, think again. Most nights I've returned to my room to finish up on some work or to prepare for the next day. Plus, living in this volatile country the last four weeks has raised my blood pressure a bit, I won't lie. View of Aso ("Victorious") Rock.

Naked in Nigeria: Bombs, Blood and Meltdown
http://naked-in-nigeria.blogspot.com/2011/06/suicide-bomber-blood-donation-and-it.html
A place where laughter is a part of life. Photograph: www.bixby.berkeley.edu. Bombs, Blood and Meltdown. The last two weeks saw me clocking up a few firsts for my time in Nigeria. I was challenged with my first IT meltdown thanks to a nasty little virus that crashed my system. It very much made me realise how reliant I am on technology to keep me in touch with the outside world. Approximately 93 million units of blood are currently donated globally to save lives and improve health. Adequate supplies ...

http://bigblueinabuja.blogspot.com/2011/07/lagos.html
Big Blue in Abuja. Sunday, July 3, 2011. I had heard from several people (plus my lonely planet guide book) that you can’t come to. This past weekend I saw the real. And it is incredible. It started off typically. With a three hour delay at the. Took twice as long as it was supposed to.) Once on board, we waited another hour for the storm to pass before we took off for. Big Blue in Abuja: Pictures from Week 3
http://bigblueinabuja.blogspot.com/2011/07/pictures-from-week-3.html
Big Blue in Abuja. Friday, July 1, 2011. Pictures from Week 3. Take notice to the goat in the background. You see goats and chickens all over the place in the more rural areas. And to those wondering, they are eaten, not kept as pets. I've talked a lot about power so here is a photo of a generator. A lot of schools have them, but they don't have the funds to use them. You have to fill it with diesel to run it. July 1, 2011 at 8:06 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My views are my own.
