Bike and Build (and Blog). Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Day 70 - Rattlesnake Country. Resting with 10 miles to go! Nyx has been planning Christmas in July for two states now and today was the big day. She gave the whole team gifts for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. The gifts were anything from "a slightly melted ice cream sandwich" to "five peach rings." Bike and Build (and Blog). Sunday, June 30, 2013. Day 40 - Getting Vanned and Climbing Another Pass. The can crew today! After we arrived at first lunch at about mile 40, we ate some PB&J and hit the road. We had another mountain climb coming up and we didn't want to get caught in a storm on the pass. After climbing some foothills, we headed down a long, beautiful stretch with a slight tailwind behind us. We averaged 20 mph during that 20 mile stretch. We were flying! That's how fast the peleton goes!

Tuesday, January 1, 2013. 5 4 3 2. 1. Happy New Year! Year 2012 was a doozie but 2013 is going to be even crazier! I have a lot more money to raise and a lot more miles to ride this year than last year, but I'm looking forward to it all! My fundraising campaign has officially started! With a solid two hours of licking! What a great cause!

Bike and Build (and Blog). Friday, May 31, 2013. Day 10 - Greenville Build Day! I am so tired so this will not be a long post! We spent all day today putting "soffit" (aka foffit) and "fascia" on a Habitat house. These are two new words I added to my construction dictionary. To us, fascia sounded like the color fuchsia except more sparkly. Turns out that these things are plastic pieces similar to siding that go on the house to make it look pretty and put together. Here are some pics:. My quads are ready!

Mile To Ride Before Sleep. Friday, May 31, 2013. Day 3 - Build Day 1 - Charleston, SC. Built with: Josh and others. We finished relatively early and headed to the showers. After, some people went on a run to the store to get items they forgot, and a couple of us went to the post office to send some things home. The rest of the team painted the trailer white to get it ready for our final designs. Dinner was provided - fried chicken and mac and cheese. The tea was not sweet, unfortunately. Where do I start?

The shoot was merrily running away with me getting many good clicks on my Nikon. Then it happened! We had just changed the model’s look adding gold leaf to her hand and hair when the worse thing ever happened. No the model didn’t bail – nor did the makeup run – and no the police did not show up.
