Explored the tombs of rich dead Parisians and artists at Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise. Brought a bottle of wine, bread, cheese, and fruit and called it a picnic amongst the dead. Ian sees a French doctor for 35 and gets Penicillin for 4 . Street Falafel from the Jewish quarter. Shakespeare and Co. An English bookstore. A cafe window seat on the Seine for the sunset. The lights illuminating Notre Dame. Caveau de la Huchette.

Long lines trump the Eiffel tower. Instead: The Rodin Museum. Stumbled into the breathtaking Gothic beauty L’église Saint-Eustache. The best thing i’ve ever tasted: Kouign Amann from Patisserie des Reves. French bakery Baguette Crudité and picnicking amongst French school children. More walking and exploring. Photography museum Maison Européenne de la Photographie.

The first of our everyday breakfasts at the Perfect Hotel. Fresh baguette (jam and butter), chocolate croissant, small glass of orange juice, and cafe au lait. To the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Strolled Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Walked. Walked. And walked. Bottle of wine and a picnic in Jardin de Luxembourg. Curiosity gets the best of us: espresso from McDonnalds (it wasn’t bad! Notre Dame and rain. Wine and espresso in philo-cafe Café des Phares.
