Being primarily a web app developer I would never carry an object such as a EF data context across session state. However in a stateful environment such as WPF are there any drawbacks to keeping a datacontext as a global variable? I know the best practice is to open the context use it and dispose of it as quick as possible. Does this apply to windows apps as well?
