The days of rain and wind | Paramotors in Greenland
https://ppgreenland.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/the-days-of-rain-and-wind
Pushing the limits in southern Greenland. 8220;Paramotor Bay” in Nunarssuit →. The days of rain and wind. Weather in Greenland is suprisingly more stable and predictable than Iceland for example. Therefore we knew that next week we’d be spending doing stuff other than flying. And as the weatherforecast said – rain and wind came and stayed over a week. We’ve felt like stuck in the base with only boat for a transportation (very limited due to high wind and waves). Pushing the limits in southern Greenland.

Facebook page →. As with almost everything, change is inevitable. This change however is not what we’d like to see. Henryk Paciejewski was suppoused to fly in Greenland with us. Unfortunately he injured himself in a paragliding accident. We all wish him quick recovery and hope that soon we’ll share the air again. Because of that our plans had slightly change – we’ll go four together and stay as long as possible. Henryk Paciejewski. Fot. Tomasz Chrapek. By tomaszchrapek . Facebook page →.

8220;Paramotor Bay” in Nunarssuit. The highest mountain peaks here reach over 900m asl with walls dropping from the top straight to the ocean below. Flying over those tops was a privilage not many had experienced. The days of rain and wind. There was a time to do necessary engine repairs and to prepare future take-off/landing field near the base (which by itself was quite demanding job). Pushing the limits in southern Greenland. First flights around the base →. The way to Isortoq. Touching down on the runway in Narsarsquaq was smooth and easy. This little town with international airport is almost nothing more than an airport itself, tiny harbor, tourist information/cafe and few other buildings. There we’ve met our boat “drivers” – two native greenlandic guys without any knowledge of english, so we didn’t know exacly where we’re going. They wew fast on their boats! Our “driver”. Gas station in Narsaq. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
