Documenting the iPad pilot at CSUS. May 4, 2011. This is a Parent News Letter article that I wrote in November, 2010. It speaks to the reasons for our pilot program. Having taught in a 1:1 laptop program, I am huge proponent of 1:1 access to technology. In my 8th grade history class students could work collaboratively on documents, access content from specialists, and complete authentic, relevant assessments. The laptops helped me prepare students for their future, not my past. So why leapfrog the laptop?
