Practical Placement at Neets. Torsdag den 5. december 2013. About to finish the project. I've made the release of IR Learner version 2 now, which now works in the range 1-500kHz. Finally I succeeded in meeting all requirements and solved the problem. This is very valuable for the company. I'm satisfied with what I've reached and learned till now. The last two weeks will be a little more relaxed by trying to extend my knowledge in electronics and doing some minor tasks. This was everything for this week.

Practical Placement at Neets. Onsdag den 27. november 2013. Well As I succeeded in making the IR Learner before deadline, I'm about to start writing documentation for everything I made, Hardware as well as software. Not the most interessting job, but it has to be done. Also I still need optimization of the harware (the AGC as I mentioned before), but this is something I can work on after releasing the project. Tomorrow Erland comes on a visit to a talk about everything or nothing. ;). 17 dec. (1).

Practical Placement at Neets. Fredag den 8. november 2013. Sorry for being a very bad blogger but my brain is in dvale every evening after work. I have had my first release of the IR-Learner about three weeks ago. There have been a lot of optimizing both in hardware and software and I had to make alot of changes in the amplification to get some more distance on the remote control. The coffee keeps me alive. :). I'll try to update this blog as often as possible but right now I focus on my deadline.

Couple of weeks ago I had been given the task to populate a database with nearly all universities around the world. I wrote a small script in Python which scrapes and extracts the names of the universities and the countries where they are located. The text was in Unicode and I thought we won't have any encoding problems, since we use UTF-8 as character encoding. Which surprisingly cannot be displayed by UTF-8.

Lately I have been working on a RESTful API for a mobile application in NodeJS and Mongo and I struggled with very interesting problem that deserves to be shared. I was making an ExpressJS error handling middleware which should return a reasonable response to the client depending on the error/exception thrown. Do not set the 'type' and 'arguments' properties on your custom Error objects in NodeJS!
