Besuccess 관련글: 1,000억원의 인수 기회를 놓친 스타트업. 스타트업들이 M&A 제의를 거절하는데는 여러 가지 이유가 있습니다. 오늘 비석세스 기사에 이유 부분이 부족한 것 같아 부연차 적어봅니다. 한국보다는 미국 기준입니다. 나중에 더 큰 Exit을 바라보고 투자자들이 반대할 수 있습니다. 특히 Lead investor가 아니라 적은 금액을 넣은 투자자의 경우 어차피 전체 포트폴리오 중 일부에 불과하므로 별로 아쉬울게 없으니 ‘지금 굳이 팔아야되냐’ 하는 경우가 종종 있습니다. 보통은 지분이 적으면 의결권도 적으니 의사결정에 미치는 영향이 적지만, 반드시 지분율과 의결권이 일치하지는 않아 minor investor가 deal을 drop하게 만드는 경우도 있습니다. 5월 8, 2013. August 11, 2015. 하룻밤새 사라진 스타트업, Zirtual. 월정액 요금을 받고 개인 비서 서비스를 제공하던 미국 스타트업 Zirtual이 지난 8월 10일 홀연히 자취를 감추었다. 무려 400여명에 달하는 직원들에게 아침에 해고 메일이 와있었고, 회사의 페이스북, 트위터, 구글 플러스 등의 소셜 미디어 계정이 하룻밤새 삭제되었다. 현재 홈페이지는 “잠시 서비스를 멈춤(“Paused Operation”)”이라고만 기술되어 있다. 불과 얼마 전인 7월 21일에 약 7억 원의 추가 투자를 유치하였는데도 알 수 없는 이유로 유료 서비스를 중단하여 그 이유가 무엇인지 궁금증을 자아내고 있다. 서비스 중단 얼마 전에 월정액 요금을 지불한 고객에게도 사전 고지가 되지 않은 채 서비스를 중단하여 파장이 커지고 있다.
