Chickens - Day 5. Hasn't been a week since the chicks arrived but it's amazing how much they've grown already! I mean shit, I know puppies and babies grow fast and all but it really is astonishing! I took some more photos yesterday. Nothing terribly new or interesting besides feathers are growing and bodies are getting larger! I find it neat to compare the photos of them from last week when they arrived to now. Wyandotte. Getting some nice wing feathers in now! The Brahma is growing great! She's the calm...

Anyway, it was a great hike, it was 6 miles and change round trip. Our longest hike before this was 4 miles of moderate trail, which Chloe, Charlie, and I all came out going "wow that was a TOUGH trail! However, though Horsetooth was longer, it was an easier trail so we came out of it feeling great! Unfortunately my phone died halfway through the trail and we took a different way back down so the photos I got on my camera are minimal but still pretty cool (especially at the summit). Me and Django :3.

I keep thinking the chickens won't look much different than the last post. then I go back and look at the last photos and am surprised at how much they've grown XD Of course they will still grow so much more, but I think we're past the really crazy development stage haha. At long last they've passed the "ugly" teen stage and are now looking nice and feathered out and pretty! Chipmunk was the hard-to-photograph one this time! So uhhh only one featured photo I guess oops! Favorite thing is still sunbathing!

Wow new photos of the chickens! Also includes photos of our new chickens: Myrtle the blue Ameraucana and the Speckled Sussex twins Pickle and Snowdrop! Chipmunk has now gotten some black feathers crawling up her neck which is pretty cool! Her neck was totally blank when she was younger haha. We had promised that should they make it out to the southwest we'd take them to our favorite place in the world, Joshua Tree National Park.
