Camp Kurtz: May 2015
http://www.campkurtz.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. There has been a lot of lead up to this day. For years my boys (all four) have asked for a dog. The answer was always "someday" and they heard that answer enough times to think that someday really meant never. Several options crossed our path, but every time it wasn't right. The next day we adopted our dog. It took a long time to fill out all the paperwork and answer the questions and our anticipation to see her grew by the minute. When at last they brought her out to us ...Meet ...

Camp Kurtz: March 2014
http://www.campkurtz.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Silver Falls in the Spring. I have never explored here in March. The falls were at maximum power dumping loads of water into full basins below. The rocks were slippery, covered in wet moss. Trees were sprouting tiny green leaves with the hope of colored blossoms to come. The air felt fresh and nothing was better than the warm, missed sun beating on our necks and backs. He never ever remembers. We kicked off Spring Break with having friends over for dinner. So many of our friend...

Monday, June 30, 2014. Friday, June 27, 2014. Crashing near a brother. Ending another soccer season. Playing hard to the end. Determined to catch a foul ball. Cracker Jacks and fireworks. World Cup in the living room. Learning to cook on his own. Secrets messages flown to Mommy at night. Sneaking out to watch the soccer game on TV. Hours and hours of RISK. Addicted to Harry Potter. By reading to him every night. In swim trunks and barefeet. Washing off the filth. Only to get dirty again tomorrow.

Camp Kurtz: February 2015
http://www.campkurtz.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. This special day.one of the best parts of elementary school. I love everything about it. The boys all picked out a gift to give their best buds to trick their friends into thinking they had a secret admirer. They wrote funny cards to go with them, but revealed the true giver by the end of the day. They spent a stormy night at the table, filling out a card for each classmate. Milo added a staff member to the bottom of his list. They decorated boxes to hold all the goods. I had...

Camp Kurtz: January 2015

Thursday, January 29, 2015. His second top tooth came out leaving what I believe is the most adorable stage every human goes through: the gap. That gummy smile is my favorite sight in the world. He was so proud and I was sentimental. The last gap in our family. If there's any object that symbolizes our complete removal from the baby stage it would be this tiny white bone. Then he took the big brother role to a whole new level by asking me to put this note under Milo's pillow after he was asleep. Proud Co...

Camp Kurtz: July 2014

Friday, July 25, 2014. Thursday, July 24, 2014. My circle of friends is full of full-on gardeners, people who can create entire feasts from the dirt in their own backyards. I have never successfully grown any of my own produce. Until today. Soon, the shades transitioned from green to orange to red. Today I picked her off the vine, sliced her up, and ate the most delicious plant I had ever tasted. Uncle Mel and Aunt Joel. Hatfield Marine Science Center. Chased by the Wind. Tuesday, July 22, 2014. 6 Walk o...

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. I just recently heard about Paul Smith and his amazing talent. But after watching this video I realized he is just acting out the thing he can do best. It's something we all should do. 2:21 "What can you do? 4:04 "His faith and something else keeps him going." "My finger.". I'm spurred on to pick up my own finger and create. I think he's right.it's part of why we are on earth. May 6, 2015 at 11:08 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Max - Age 12. Caden - Age 10. Milo - Age 8.

Monday, May 11, 2015. I finally arrived at the glaze and fire part in this complex process. I was shocked to see how the colors completely change after they have been fired. It's better than Christmas morning when I return to the studio and see what my final products look like. May 14, 2015 at 2:19 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Max - Age 12. Caden - Age 10. Camp Kurtz: December 2014
http://www.campkurtz.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2014. It's just full of so much fun. Highlights of our day:. Drinking up the good stuff. Hooked on new books. Sipping on egg nog. Drinking coffee all day long. Digging into a favorite series. Discovering new things about grandma like her gorgeous widow's peak. Settling in with the gift he has always wanted: an electric blanket. Going to sleep happy with his favorite present by his side. I took Milo last-minute gift shopping. My mom and I went to a church service together. Designing a...
