Friday, June 20, 2014. Almost time for National Moth Week! And boy, is the mothing heating up around here! Just in time for NMW2014, I'm starting to get some real moths out in the yard. Temperatures have warmed into the 70s and sometimes 80s in the day, and it's as warm as the 60s at night- which has brought out the moths! The last two nights I've gone out, I've been putting my sheet on the front of the house (perpendicular to the street) instead of on the shed out back, and WOW- moth city! I know I tend...

Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Return to Moth Mania, Maine-style! It's been an entirely different experience mothing here in Maine, as opposed to the salad days of mothing in Central PA. For some reason, I just haven't had the success here that I had in PA, but I keep trying! I then did a little more reading online and found a mention of "self-ballasting MV bulbs"- NOW they tell me! I've tried the new lamp three times. Here's the sheet on the first night:. Still, I have had a few moments:. Of course, there were ...

Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Barn #9 in Bridgewater Township. There were so many things to shoot on the property of this red barn! Also, the house was fabulous and I will post more photos of that tomorrow. This is a working farm and I swear every tractor that they ever had was saved somewhere on the property. 425 acres with a few cows and lots of cats ;-). I love the cell tower in the back ground .the ying and yang. I was curious about the lower level door and the small white building. My Yard in May. Once U...

Thursday, May 21, 2015. My Yearly Jaunt to Bordines. I did my flower shopping today at Bordines and as usual I bought much more than I needed .thinking on the way home "now I have to plant all this stuff.my poor knees" It is so hard not to buy everything in sight if you are a flower lover. My garden days, however, are fading fast.I am past it as Mrs. Slocomb would say. A beautiful pink trumpet vine. Gerbera Daisies. I love the colors! Pretty double pansy. yellow with the lavender edging is different.

Monday, May 18, 2015. Can't think of any new titles for all these SC photos and I still have so may more to go. The statue at the entrance to Brookgreen was taken when I was leaving one evening. The garden is only open until 8pm in the month of April unless there is a special event. So it was dusk when I stopped to take this picture. Tried to find out the name of this work of art. I am pretty sure that it is by Anna Huntington. You can see this clearly as you drive by on route 17. My Yard in May. 160;Oh,...

Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Along the walking trail at the Overland Park Arboretum, there are statues placed randomly along the path. I didn't get to see all of them because I only walked about one half of the trail but I did get to see the controversial piece of art work entitled "Accept or Reject" Read on.
