The waste can be dumped directly into the primary cell. This does not have to be fully loaded in order to begin the process. Once loaded the cell is closed and heat is added. This heat is produced with a supplementary fuel. The gasification process takes about 12 to 14 hours. The cell is cooled and in four hours it is ready for another cycle (the ash does not need to be removed at this point). The gas produced by the cycle is a high BTU mixture of carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds.
