Igniting Wholeness: June 2015
http://ignitingwholeness.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Why I Won't Enter the Debate. The following was shown to me by my husband this week after two weeks (or more) of FB being blown up with arguments, political debates (I use the word "debate" loosely) and opinions. I love it. It made me giggle and had just the right amount of satire without taking sides or expressing any opinions that might ignite an online argument. What do you have that you did not receive? Today, as we sat...
Igniting Wholeness: April 2015
http://ignitingwholeness.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Saturday, April 25, 2015. The Seven Year Itch. In a way, it's incredibly difficult to believe that seven years have passed since that special day. In many ways, it's not. So much has changed - our day to day lives are nothing like they were seven years ago. If you know me even a little bit, you know that I love my husband and I love my marriage. In honor of seven. 1) Pursue God first. 2) Learn to fight. In our first year of marriage, it became ve...
Igniting Wholeness: Long-Term Effects of Abuse - A Moment of Reality
http://ignitingwholeness.blogspot.com/2014/08/long-term-effects-of-abuse-moment-of.html
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Monday, August 18, 2014. Long-Term Effects of Abuse - A Moment of Reality. Today's blog is a little different. I had a bit of an emotional kick in the pants today. I want to share it with the "blogosphere" in hopes of sharing what abuse does to a healthy, "recovered" and "healed" victim. I want all of you who don't have any proximity to abuse to see the full impact. So - here are some of my thoughts from today:. Except that it's not. My memories ...
Igniting Wholeness: Vinegar and Baking Soda - Explosive Relationships
http://ignitingwholeness.blogspot.com/2015/07/vinegar-and-baking-soda-explosive.html
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Friday, July 17, 2015. Vinegar and Baking Soda - Explosive Relationships. I just finished facilitating another Mending the Soul group. It's amazing how each time through one of these group, I walk away with something new for myself. In some cases, I think two healthy people can just be toxic for each other. Much like vinegar and baking soda - both are good things in their own right, but when mixed together they are explosive. Two people w...When ...
Igniting Wholeness: May 2015
http://ignitingwholeness.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Thursday, May 28, 2015. It hurts me just as much as it hurts you." Consequences for a Toddler. After several weeks of frustration with Brock's increasing sass, I finally had it today. There are three things I cannot stand from a child. When I hear any of these things, my blood begins to boil and steam begins to come off of my scalp and flames from my nose and mouth. Did you just sass me to my face you little twerp? For today. Mmm-kay? I don't oft...

Year of the Dog: April 2010
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Year of the Dog. Thursday, April 29, 2010. The Bulgarian town where I now live, like most cities of its size (pop. Has plenty to do. There are concerts, plays, tons of restaurants and cafes, an opera house, a zoo, a dolphinarium. I made plans to take advantage of all of this while I'm here and I was especially excited to visit the dolphinarium since I have never seen a dolphin show before. This is the best picture I could get of one of the dolphins). Http:/ www.thecovemovie.com. Monday, April 26, 2010.
Year of the Dog: February 2010

Year of the Dog. Saturday, February 13, 2010. Johnny Hallyday, The French Elvis? We left after one drink, not because the ambiance wasn't amusing, but because it was getting kind of late. They turned the music up a little more after we walked out they door and were surely pleased they had potentially turned a couple of Americans into Johnny Hallyday fans. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Year of the Dog: November 2010
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Year of the Dog. Monday, November 8, 2010. Bloody Hockey Night in Dallas. I've been in attendance at hockey games since I was a fetus. My brothers played hockey at outdoor rinks in North Dakota and so I went to games before I was born, as a bundled-up infant, and as a child eager to volunteer in the concession stand (the only place with heat). Needless to say, I'm a bit of a hockey fan. We arrived early in our red and white jerseys so we could watch warmups. I always watched warmups in Phoenix, usual...
becoming Julie Griffin: Double Bubbles
http://www.becomingjuliegriffin.com/2012/10/double-double-toil-and-bubbles.html
Monday, October 29, 2012. In the beginning, the other. Babies seemed so old. And big. And engaged. They would make eye contact and smile at you, hold their own heads up, and flail their arms and legs with excitement. The really old. Babies could laugh and hold things in their hands. And they drooled everywhere. Not my little peanut. In all her preciousness, she was delicate and smooshy and sweet and silent. Penny is three months old. And the drool. Apparently a pre-cursor to teething, the bubbles of ...
Top Ten Mistakes: First Five | Lenten Sausages
http://lentensausages.com/2011/08/top-ten-mistakes-first-five
Dedicated to Urlich Zwingli, who in 1522 served sausages to his congregation during Lent, challenging the accepted norm in the church as foreign to The Bible and his freeing people to enjoy the many good things God has made. August 16, 2011. Top Ten Mistakes: First Five. What do you think? Have more to add? Please comment and let me know! Sharing Half the Gospel Message:. Why Courtship is Fundamentally Flawed. By Thomas Umstattd Jr. This blog post has been expanded and clarified in my book. For months we could talk of little else. After reading it myself, I grew into as big an opponent of dating as you could find. Dating was evil and Courtship, whatever it was, was godly, good and Biblical. As I grew older, I...
Year of the Dog: This Nomadic Life
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010/07/this-nomadic-life.html
Year of the Dog. Friday, July 9, 2010. At one point I got up to use the bathroom and was a little surprised to see that when looking down the toilet, I could see the train tracks. Apparently they did not have a very sophisticated commode. I went back to my seat and Brock got up to use the bathroom. I figured I'd let him see for himself and he came back with the same perplexed and disgusted look I must have had. This is Majerle excited about his first ever train ride to Sofia:. After a few days of traveli...
Year of the Dog: July 2010
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Year of the Dog. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. We set out this morning on a trek that ended up being 31 beautiful miles. A couple of handsome fellows we met. And fed. These tasted even better than they look. This horse's back itches. Friday, July 9, 2010. As soon as we boarded our France Air flight, I was thrilled to hear French again. Bulgarian is a beautiful language, but I really missed hearing and speaking French. The train to Liege, Belgium was the nicest train I've ever ridden. I let Majerle have his...
Year of the Dog: Soccer Fanaticism, Euro Style
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010/06/soccer-fanaticism-euro-style.html
Year of the Dog. Sunday, June 27, 2010. Soccer Fanaticism, Euro Style. Being in Europe for the World Cup has been intriguing and enlightening. I do not fancy myself a soccer fan, but I've enjoyed the entertainment by taking in several games so far. Thanks to our Bulgarian friends, I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about this crazy sport. June 28, 2010 at 7:43 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Also check out these blogs:. Year of the Dog: Le Fin and a Beginning
http://yearofthedogerin.blogspot.com/2010/10/le-fin-and-beginning.html
Year of the Dog. Saturday, October 16, 2010. Le Fin and a Beginning. How did we both go from expats to Texans? I asked my friend who recently moved from Switzerland to Houston. Neither of is really sure how it happened, but I'm pretty sure we both reminisce about our jet-setter lives in Europe daily. Clearly, my indecisiveness extends to choosing favorites, not that I really need to select one anyway. January 16, 2011 at 7:23 PM. OMG, you are such a trooper! Way to keep your HEAD in the game. ha!

Igniting Wholeness
A blog dedicated to following my journey through Seminary. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Things a First Time Mom Doesnt Know. 1) You don't really need a baby-bag. I realize every new mom wants a bag, because you feel like you "need" all of the items you registered for. Granted, there are phases where you'll need snacks, cups, teethers, sophie the giraffe and other little things. However, I find I'm much happier and get around easier if I limit that as much as possible. 2) You don't need a monitor either.
