The Dirty Jester Winks: October 2005
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Thursday, October 27, 2005. Fat Dudes and Hot Chicks. But first, a quick word about the philosophy I proceed with. It does not matter what was intended by the author(s) of a text. If you make an observation about a text (really Text, meaning anything that can be read as such, from a novel to a play to a wedding), you can assume intentionality, the possibility of intention, and make interpretations based upon that. But, what is your message, dear medium?

The Dirty Jester Winks: September 2005
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. I devoted a good six or eight paragraphs of response to his post, and another equal amount to another post he wrote about the disassociative effects of online engagement. But I haven’t posted here in months. I’m trapped by the same thing I accuse the Left of being trapped in a reactive, instead of a creative, narrative-creating structure. Why me, and why the Left? And I think this is a condition of audience. I must find a way to ...

The Dirty Jester Winks: February 2006

The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Sunday, February 26, 2006. Art by the Masses? Okay, so I’ve got this questions that has been nibbling at me for the past week or so. It doesn’t really have any should we or shouldn’t we vein in it at all. Just inneresting, s’all. Just fucking fantastic stuff. I sat in the café after and wrote for a couple of hours trying to capture as much of my reaction as possible. Does art have a necessary component in process? Posted by JJisafool at 5:45 PM. The Dirty Jester Winks: April 2006
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Thursday, April 27, 2006. Help me with my homework. I'm working on an essay this weekend about the spoiled milk moment of literary exchange - "This smells awful! Get a whiff of this." I have one friend in particular I always give books I hate, not entirely sure why the impulse, but its there, and so I'm writing an essay about the value of hating books. I'll even start. I really hated Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. Oh, and I rea-hEEEEEEE-lly hated Left Behind.

The Dirty Jester Winks: August 2005
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Tuesday, August 09, 2005. A stranger that asks a stranger Do you believe in God? Will most likely get at least a pause out of them. A bit of screwed up expression that is silently asking Which God do you mean? There is a fear that they are being asked a question whose answer comes with clear and immediate consequences. Will the questioner try and pull me in or trip me up if I answer? All of which seems simple enough, but sounds easy to write off, particularl...

The Dirty Jester Winks: January 2006
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Sunday, January 29, 2006. My wife is a huge fan of the comic strip Mutts. So for Christmas this year I signed her up for the Mutts fan club. Along with the t-shirt and bookmark and other assorted crap that came with the membership kit was a Guide to Vegetarian Eating produced by the Humane Society (the creator of Mutts is vegan and very active in animal rights). See, the booklet actually constructs an argument against factory farms (an argument with which I ...

The Dirty Jester Winks: November 2005
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Don't Knock The Jukebox. Stopped in what has become my new local bar tonight. It isn’t a very good bar, but, if I tried at all, I could get from my door to theirs in less than sixty seconds. Guys, where are we? I’ve described this place to friends with just exactly this above description, and always asked, What kind of fucking juke has Turbo Lover and In Too Deep? Ever been in a bar where the juke just sucked? Whatever you like,...

The Dirty Jester Winks: March 2006
http://dirtyjester.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
The Dirty Jester Winks. Things that tickle me. Friday, March 31, 2006. A Moron's Take on Music. Let me first say that Cake supplied, at one time, one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. They were touring after Fashion Nugget, and I saw them at Bumbershoot, and they were studio-band-out-of-water suckage. The way you treat me lightly only slightly brings me down a lot. Which is just fucking perfect. Is it the best song ever? No But, what it is, is done damn well. And the nominees are:. Because in each ...

Posted by JJisafool at 9:19 AM. Monday, December 05, 2005. Soupy Don't say I didn't warn ya. So, I was in a sports bar the other day and I saw this commercial. A bunch of twenty-somethings are shown in quick cuts being ID’ed and denied in their efforts to buy a beer that is just out of frame. Some are pis...
