Monday, May 29, 2006. Lindisfarne and the Farne Isles. Just reflecting on our weekend spent with friends. We have had the good fortune of enjoying sunshine and blue skies as we journeyed north to Northumberland and the sometimes wild north sea coastline with large beaches and castle topped cliffs. Here where Christianity established one of its first strongholds in Britain is Holy Island or Lindisfarne. And by the way, just in case you wondered, these are two original photos taken by me! This last week we...

Monday, April 24, 2006. We spent a lovely afternoon yesterday, visiting the Van Gogh exhibition currently on display at Compton Verney. Warwickshire. Apart from being Van Gogh paintings they all share in the fact that they were originally collected or owned by British 'Pioneer Collectors'! The painting above 'Long Grass with Butterflies'. See below) 'Peach Blosson in the Crau' 1889. Lewis Hind, the...

Saturday, November 19, 2005. Rocking the chocolate mousse! The name Rigo Jancsi may not readily spring to mind, but for us it is in daily use! Not the Hungarian chocolate mousse of that name but my youngest son's rock band name! Sunday, July 31, 2005. Was in the kitchen tonight, idly drying my hands and staring vacantly at the grotty area under the radiator where the towel hangs.
