Any code I do for fun nowadays can be found on github. Of course, most of my compositions. Are technically software too. A few years ago, I contributed to the open-source Gsharp musical score editor. As part of Google's Summer of Code. My mentoring organization was LispNYC. And my project was to implement import/export support for MusicXML. I kept a blog chronicling my progress. Written as a response to an assignment to compose around the idea of either φ (the golden ratio) or the related Fibonacci sequence. This piece represents my first attempt at sonifying the algorithm itself. This is in contrast to most algorithmic compositions which I think use the algorithm as a means to an end. I am a programmer who likes hacking on multimedia art; mine as well as that of other artists. I frequently do work for artists through Harvestworks. I'm particularly interested in making musical noises out of data. Sometimes I do it with a practical purpose in mind; sometimes I do it to make art; sometimes I do it just cause I wonder what it will sound like. I graduated from Columbia University. With a degree in computer engineering in 2003, and was a graduate student in music technology at NYU.

Besides spending time looking through code and playing around with some ideas, I also decided to set up some revision control for myself. Did exactly this fairly well, so i set about the task.
