April 2, 2014. This week the weather got above 50 degrees and Ted and I have gotten a bit excited. It is only Wednesday and we have already had two bonfires in our backyard this week. We can't help ourselves! It seems a bit wasteful to be inside when we look back at how long we have been cooped up in the house because of snow this year. April 14, 2011. Last fall we took a road trip to do some wine tasting on the north side of the state. These pictures are from our visit to Chateau Chantal. In Traverse City. The winery was beautiful in the fall and I would love to see it in the springtime. My advice for your trip to the Old Mission Peninsula, leave double the time you think you will need for your visit. April 21, 2011. Here are the photographs from our visit to Holland. Last weekend. What a cute town! The downtown area is great, with a wide variety of shops and restaurants. So many fun storefronts that are perfect for window shopping. The Tulip Time Festival. Is May 7-14 and would make for a perfect time to visit the town. March 24, 2011. Back in January we had a wonderful evening at Lazy J Ranch. In Milford. The old barn has been transformed into an amazing dance hall, where they call square dances. We had so much fun learning the dances and we loved trying out a new activity. It would be the perfect venue for a family reunion, birthday, or wedding reception. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an out of the ordinary evening. Here are the guys learning their part of the dance. Love your blog now a follower!

August 18, 2014. Lake Michigan Recreation Area. Off we went to the shores of Lake Michigan with our backpacks and tent. We hiked a mile or so out from the parking lot and found a spot right along the beach before the sun went down on Friday. We could see other campsites in the distance from ours, but it felt private enough. We built a bonfire right on the beach (another favorite! Lake Michigan Recreation Area, we think you are the best mix of beaching it up and feeling one with the woods. April 21, 2014.
