My Highest Calling: November 2012
http://lifeinacklentown.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 24, 2012. I thought I'd pop in and do a little blogging this evening. Can you believe Christmas is only mere weeks away? Note: For those who were wondering, John and I are still happily married, so put your minds at ease (wink, wink). No separation here. If he ever tries to leave, he has to take me with him! Although I have no idea what, if anything, would give someone that idea! A few such moments:. After all that reminiscing, I'm about to anoint and lay hands on my camera and pray fo...

My Highest Calling: February 2015

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The Power of Encouragement. Says Webster. I have often asked, in prayer, for the Lord to make me an encourager. But I don't think I really grasped what it meant, until now. Not until someone showed me- inspired. They looked for the good in me, the positive potential for greatness, that I did not, nor have I ever seen before. They brought it to light and promoted. Me to strive for more. They showed me a goal and inspired. Let me take a moment, if I may, to inspire. Sit down a...

My Highest Calling: September 2012

Friday, September 28, 2012. Our family, last Easter. I'm the girl (can I still call myself a girl at 31? But I will just say that although we have given up some convenient technologies, we have more time as a family than we have ever had, and learning to live with less has been good for us. We recently found out that baby #4 is another girl! We have settled on a name, but since we have 3 1/2 more months to change our minds, I will hold off on sharing it for a little bit longer. Thursday, July 12, 2012. To Trust or Not To Trust. For nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Because for the last month or two, I've been a bon-a-fide Worry Wart. I've fretted, I've cried, I've stewed. This is not the right way to Wal-Mart! Or "Are you sure. You know where you're going, Mom? For nothing;.". But in every ...

Sunday, March 3, 2013. Enjoying the Newborn Days. Having a newborn has turned the Acklen household upside down, to say the very least. This little bundle of squirming sweetness has thrown us all into an alter-universe of sleep-deprived fogginess. Just now, at the beginning of her 8th week, are we beginning to regain some sense of normalcy. A new normal, as a new baby tends to change everything, in a good way of course. Josie has been a busy little bundle, meeting some very important people. Question Boar...
