27 Stories: October 2009
http://laurathesis.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. These postcards are my very small haul from the September postcard show in Burlington. I'm trying to come up with ways to insert the postcards that I've collected into my thesis book, and so far all I've got is using them as spacers between stories, even if they don't relate to the story preceding or following. Would this be wierd? Would I have to have an explination for why I placed certain cards in certain places? Elliot Lake, Ontario. Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The 100 - 43-45.

Thursday, October 29, 2009. The carnival mentality seriously, solemnly dedicates itself to the concept of waste, ephemera, of built-in obsolescence, but this is not the built-in obsolescence of manufacture but of art, because in Carnival the creative energy is strictly regulated to its own season. Last year’s intricate sculptures are discarded as immediately valueless when it is midnight on Shrove Tuesday …". Pg 55 Critcial Perspectives on Derek Walcott by Robert D. Hameer.
