Monday, 19 May 2014. Five Star Songs; The Primitives- Thru The Flowers. Beautiful, sunny and warm, holiday Monday here in Toronto, and what better way to cap off this day than to play some 80's indie pop from The Primitives. Check it out below, especially if you are into bands like Veronica Falls, Fear of Men or The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. The Primitives are still together and touring. Let's hope they come back to North America in the near future. Posted by Aural Report. Labels: Five Star Songs.

An analog life: Movin' on up, movin' on out
http://analoglifenotes.blogspot.com/2008/08/movin-on-up-movin-on-out.html
Still partying like it's 1999. Movin' on up, movin' on out. But of jamming things into suitcases in the face of an ever-decreasing overseas weight allowance. I think of little else at the moment, and every time I pick something up, I find myself speculatively weighing it in my hand. I guess it's good to have something to occupy my time besides the Olympics, which is my other main pastime. Or trying to find out why rubbish hasn't been collected at the flat in weeks ('Is that a new building? Wearing Wellie...

Still partying like it's 1999. Posted by Laura @ 3:08 PM. Tolerating horrifying amounts of sugar; creating mountains out of molehills; making anyone present immediately feel better about themselves, especially when I dance; generating massive amounts of clutter in astonishingly little time. Weaknesses:. Girly cocktails; fashion magazines; Eurotrash dance music; detective novels; watching others suffer in televised endurance races while sitting comfortably on sofa. Indie kid vs. Dance Kid.

Still partying like it's 1999. Ahhhh Now this was worth coming home for, even given the jarring transition from tropics to snow . errr, make that slush. Season's greetings to everyone. I hope you're with family and friends, and exercising a marked lack of restraint so far as food and wine are concerned. That's what new year's resolutions are for, and they are still a week away. Besides, I'm drinking to your health, so really, I'm doing you a favor. I hope you appreciate the sacrifice! Vocabulary courtesy...

Still partying like it's 1999. Brain cells rotting . I miss all my books that are back in Canada! Entire chapters. I think the habit was formed as a result of having to plough through so many unsolicited manuscripts and drafts of books-in-progress at my old job when you read all day at work, you become very choosy about your recreational reading matter.*. And I’ll probably read The Nanny Diaries. Largely because Ian Rankin. From Better Than Life. A short but inspiring book. Posted by Laura @ 5:40 PM.

An analog life: From the other side of the world

Still partying like it's 1999. From the other side of the world. It's incredible to watch - though nerve-wracking! Here you can see the hands of the people making up the base of the tower. They support the climbers and also catch people who fall. They are at three storeys now, and the people who will make up the higher stories wait in a row to climb the shoulders of their teammates as the tower gets higher (note the decreasing sizes). Still partying like it's 1999. I've just booked a flight to Montreal at the end of July. Eleven or so days in Quebec, at a cottage on a lake, surrounded by gorgeous hills, good food and wine, and lots of family history. I am so excited it almost diminishes my deathly fear of flying. I'd think that fuel prices here would prohibit it. Then again, those little car flags have been showing up on the British equivalent of camaros and honda civics. Methinks I'm in for some sleepless nights should Englan...Even ...

Still partying like it's 1999. Well thank goodness for that. The weekly ASBO report in the Oxford Journal. Where various panhandlers and attention-deprived adolescents are written up like hardened criminals. Unintentionally amusing stuff. (Definition of ASBO here. Posted by Laura @ 8:07 PM. Girly cocktails; fashion magazines; Eurotrash dance music; detective novels; watching others suffer in televised endurance races while sitting comfortably on sofa. Indie kid vs. Dance Kid. The music issue (semi-annual).
