But not just because it tastes good, but because food is a powerful tool in developing community, supporting others, and making memories. Anyone who has ever taken a covered dish to a grieving family or spent time under a tent at a tailgate falls into those categories. My great grandmothers chocolate pound cake recipe. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever cooked!

On Monday, Helen Claire started her first ever ballet class, and I don't know which one of us was more excited. We packed her bag the night before, because the teacher comes to her preschool, so she wears her regular school clothes and changes for ballet class. I told her teachers not to worry if she didn't want to change. I'm going to soak up the girlishness and sweetness as long as I can! Life as we know it.

Saturday, October 12, 2013. Day at the Park. Helen Claire LOVES to go to Homewood Park, and we go anytime the weather is pretty and we have some free time on the weekend. This time, I took my camera along to get some shots of her swinging. It's by far her favorite thing to do at the park, at the playground at school, at Mimi's house. she will beg for "two more minutes, two more minutes."
