Senin, 14 Januari 2008. The Meaning of "OSU". The meaning of Osu. Osu is a combination of the words: Oshi which means "Push", and Shinobu whihch means "to Endure". It means patience, determination, appreciation, respect and perseverance. In order to develop a strong body and strong spirit it is necessary to undergo rigorous training. The ultimate devotion needed to live Kyokushin's way is Osu. The spirit of Osu as described by Shihan Cameron Quinn of Australia in his book The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama:.

Minggu, 02 Maret 2008. Sosai (President) Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate,. Was born in southern Korea in 1923. While living at his sister's farm in Manchuria at the age of nine, he began his lifelong journey along the Martial Way when he began studying the southern Chinese form of kempo know as "Eighteen Hands". When Mas Oyama returned to Korea at the age of 12, he continued his training in Korean kempo. Sadly, Mas Oyama (a non-smoker) died of lung cancer in 1994. Keep your head low.
