The Blatts in Cancun: Dolphin Encounters
http://steveblatt.blogspot.com/2007/10/dolphin-encounters.html
The Blatts in Cancun. Saturday, October 20, 2007. I never thought I would spend so much time in the water with a large mammal that can balance me on its nose. But, fortune would have it that the father of Benji's best friend in school is a corporate V.P. for the company that runs Dolphin Encounters. Our first adventure took place in Puerto Adventurus. We climbed into the dolphin pool and took turns streaking thorugh the water with the help of the well-trained dolphins. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Blatts in Cancun: January 2008
http://steveblatt.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
The Blatts in Cancun. Friday, January 4, 2008. Winter Break: Exploring the Ancient Mayan World. That afternoon, we explored our first cenote of our Yucatan journey. It was crowded, pricey and not very clear, but still a thrill to jump into cold water inside a cave. On our second night, we went back to the sound and light show to hear the words in English. It was better this time, but still not all that impressive. Thanksgiving with the Vasiliks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hyatt Caribe- Very easy access,...

The Blatts in Cancun: June 2007
http://steveblatt.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
The Blatts in Cancun. Wednesday, June 20, 2007. It's All Coming Together. Finally, it's all coming together. For an interminable period there, we were waiting for Cancun to get closer. It was too early to pack; too early to rent our house; too early to find a home for our dog. But, now that we are about 30 days out, we've got a lot of those loose ends tied up. And, we've got the boxes piling up in the back, back room. So, aside from the perfunctory family visits, births, and weddings looming on the h...

But, that afternoon, we made it to the art museum in the main square to catch a modert art exhibit that the kids really enjoyed. Fiesta Americana- Powder...

The Blatts in Cancun: Turning 40 and Beyond
http://steveblatt.blogspot.com/2008/03/turning-40-and-beyond.html
The Blatts in Cancun. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Turning 40 and Beyond. Well, my 40th birthday came and went. Luckily I knew myself well enough (after 40 years) to ask for a party that was my style. We were on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun, it was a Sunday afternoon so families could come, and we only invited a small circle of interesting people. There was plenty of alcohol and snack foods and the party didn't go on forever. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). El Cid (Puerto Morelos)- wrist...

http://steveblatt.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
The Blatts in Cancun. Sunday, August 19, 2007. And, last but not least, we discovered that the day to go on vacation is 24 hours before a category 5 hurricane hits. The roads were empty. The gorgeous ruins of Tulum were empty. We've got our flashlights, our canned food, our water and our plywood ready. Bring on the hurricane Dean! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Blatts in Cancun. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. To Belize and Back. Well the kids visas had expired . . . and apparently the school didn't think it there responsibility to put the kids on my work visa (Ilana never got one! We tried to make the best of things by exploring the 7 colored lagoon in Balancar and by swimming in the famed Cenote Azul. But, in then end we still had to spend another 6 hours on a bus which broke down and a became a 9 hour oddysey to get back to Cancun. Thanks for joining us on ou...
