I stumbled upon festivals. Chilled out on beaches. And got some picture perfect views. I drank litres and litres of free water from police stations around the country. But my brain constantly needed freezing and the 7-11 was happy to help. I saw sunsets and sunrises from both coasts. Climbed lots of hills. Borneo on a budget.

Friday, 30 November 2012. Jaffna - a town on the rise. A typical street in Jaffna. One of the many cool tuk tuks on Hospital Road. Proud fisherman and his catch on Beach Road. Found a really nice restaurant where you eat your food on a banana leaf, then dispose throw your "plate" down a chute. Approaching the Hindu temple of Naga Pooshani Amman Kovil on Nainativu Island. Hindu temple Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil in Jaffna. Destroyed buildings on the Western outskirts of Jaffna town. Fisherman on Point Pedro.

Friday, 31 August 2012. Discovering the ruins of Olympos. After finding a cheap flight to Antalya on the Mediterranean coast of southwest Turkey, I decided to it was time to explore the country I dipped my feet into 6 months previously. Antalya is a resort town and although pretty I decided to hit the backpacker mecca that is Olympos, a village 35 miles southwest of Antalya along the Lycian Way, a long distance footpath spanning this coastal area.
