SkyBear Art - Carl Tsuis creative works. Truth Catches Up to my Fiction. November 27, 2011. In the truth-catches-up-with-fiction category, New Zealand based Martin Aircraft thinks one of the potential uses of a jetpack is search and rescue operations. This is the same basic concept I have for Rocket Angels. In an era (late 1930s) before helicopters it seems like a logical use of a rocket backpack in addition to fighting Nazis. Jetpack powered search and rescue? Sounds like a great idea for a comic!

May you have a smashing 2012 before the great calamity predicted by the Mayan calendar or supermarket tabloids befalls us! Like the ever optimistic predictions of the Year of the Linux Desktop. It didn't quite work out that way as far as the creative pursuits went. At left is one of the last pieces I worked on in 2011. It was an attempt at doing an ImagineFx. The Specter of Painting. A strengthening under...

SkyBear Art - Carl Tsuis creative works. Boston Comic Con 2011. May 2, 2011. Straight to the point summary so you can get on with your busy life: "Improved space. Probably still a one-day pass event." My flickr photostream. Tells a small part of the story (mostly through snapshots my wife took). I'll let you know when I find the answer to that. So far it hasn't been three Boston Comic Cons. Nor one Chicago Wizard's World, not the Maine Comics Art Festival, or even Boston Comic Roundtable's MICE.

SkyBear Art - Carl Tsuis creative works. October 10, 2014. Jackie is a co-worker with whom I try and post a sketch a day on a wall at work. I’ve been doing this on scraps of paper at work using just an ink pen to keep things quick. Today I was at home and did it on the cintiq in Painter 2015, but kept everything just ink . I’ve always valued tight art work. I need to do more stuff like this to get out of my comfort zone. August 31, 2014. August 23, 2014. And this rare drawing tablet the Easyl 1000. I am ...

SkyBear Art - Carl Tsuis creative works. August 23, 2014. So you think you’ve been doing digital art for a long time do you? Check this out. In a time before Photoshop even existed, when PCs struggled to display 256 colors, and when Macs were still stubbornly black and white affairs, there was the Wunderkind of personal computers the Amiga. Complementing the Amiga’s revolutionary hardware was a wide range of eclectic creative accessories (for the mid-1980s). Video digitizers, audio samplers, genlocks.
