Confession: Why I turned my back on Richter. A gallery A week →. November 19, 2012 · 12:33 pm. It’s freezing outside which means there are only two places to be in Paris, drinking hot chocolate in a café or in a gallery taking in some art. So far this autumn, I’ve been trying to do as much of both as possible. Firstly, British artist Kate MccGwire came to town and held her first Paris solo show at La Galerie Particulière. Her next show ‘Lure’. Opens in London on November 23. At the All Visual Arts Gallery.

Autumnal art fest →. September 18, 2012 · 9:44 am. Confession: Why I turned my back on Richter. Gerhard Richter, “Betty”, 1988, huile sur toile, 102x72cm, Saint-Louis Art Museum Gerhard Richter 2012. Going to the Centre Pompidou’s Gerhard Richter exhibition. Everything was left to the last minute and there I was the day before the presentation madly making photocopies. I took my messy piles paper home, spread them all over my bedroom floor and made myself a strong coffee. I was going to stay up a...The n...

As you can see from the lack of posts on my blog, I haven’t had a huge amount of time to write about the art I’ve seen recently. So I’ve decided to start another blog, called ‘A gallery A week. So if you want to read more, you can find me on the Paris page. Dominique Fiat →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. A gallery A week. 16 rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais, Paris 75003. Gilles Balmet, ‘Looking through the window’ on until 19th October. This weekend, in celebration of ‘La Rentrée’ (September when everyone in Paris comes back from holiday) many of the city’s galleries held a ‘vernissage’ which is French for exhibition opening. I managed to work my way around about 15 of them, which was tiring but the odd free glass of wine helped! September 8, 2013. Middot; 2:46 pm. A gallery A week. Enter your comment here.

Newer posts →. March 1, 2012 · 1:54 pm. Desperate to avoid another social network hungrily eating at my time, I did everything I could to avoid the colourful world of Pinterest. But I love pictures and I have no self-discipline, so it’s started. Here’s a link to my first board (let’s face it the first of many boards) of my favourite living artists. Tagged as Contemporary art. February 5, 2012 · 5:35 pm. Untitled (lash) 2008 Cris Bierrenbach. Known by its friends as the MEP) until 25. The works in this co...

March 8, 2015. The rentrée littéraire 2014 and “l’effet Trierweiler”. Below is a piece I wrote for an international newspaper about the 2014 French literary season back in September last year. By the pool start to fade, the Paris literati braces itself and plunges headlong into the yearly. Merci Pour ce moment. Sees 607 novels new and in translation published in France...

May 25, 2014. Mayhem, Le Divan du Monde, Paris, May 22 2014. Les Fleurs du Mal. That said, for all of their absurdity, Mayhem certainly pack a significant punch live. Paris audiences have a reputation for being somewhat staid, but there was a genuine buzz around the venue as the lights dimmed and the band’s traditional entrance music, Silvester Anfang, actually composed for the band by Tangerine Dream’s Conrad Schnitzler, kicked off before they raced into Pagan Fears, arguably the standout track from.

Searching for the plot. April 27, 2010. 8212; imaginaryheroine @ 2:30 pm. Tags: Bella's engagement ring. Apparently they’ve released a replica of Bella’s engagement ring. It’s available in faux version for $35 and a version with real diamonds for $1,979. I blushingly admit that I’ve amassed a not inconsiderable amount of Twilight related merch. I may or may not frequently sport purple ruffled sweats from Aerie. Or a cadet blue B.B. Dakota jacket. My main issue is the design of this ring. It is. So, I sup...

the imaginary home
Living with your parents at 23 definitely has it's ups and downs. My mother and I love to thrift, repurpose, and build unique, vintage inspired pieces. I'm no professional, but with the help of my endlessly creative family, some amazing things are accomplished under this roof. I store all of my goodies in my parent's garage in hopes that I will one day decorate my most perfect [imaginary] home. Sunday, February 24, 2013. Home on the range. In my parents garage, of course. Until then, enjoy your life.
