I Make Meatballs: February 2010

http://imakemeatballs.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

You should, too. Friday, February 12, 2010. Diagnosed with celiac in 2008, I've been thinking a lot lately of the foods I miss the most. And, having been snowed in for six days straight, I'm having hallucinations involving grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, and other delicious cold-weather comfort foods I'll never be able to eat again. One food in particular I really miss is a Vietnamese sandwich called Banh Mi. 1 lb ground pork (from Smith Meadows Farm. 20 g mayonnaise (a heaping tablespoon).

I Make Meatballs: November 2009

http://imakemeatballs.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

You should, too. Monday, November 30, 2009. The Meatballs of My People. What would make me feel better. Because I MAKE MEATBALLS, that's why. I smiled at the cashier when she handed me my change. I sang along with the radio in the car the whole way home. And, I practically skipped up the front walk to my house. Even though the sun had begun to set, my day was finally starting to look up. I came inside, defrosted some ground beef, and got to work. The Meatballs of My People. In the food processor). While ...

I Make Meatballs: Meatballs You Will Pine For

http://imakemeatballs.blogspot.com/2009/11/meatballs-you-will-pine-for.html

You should, too. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Meatballs You Will Pine For. The craving hit me out of nowhere. I needed meatballs. I needed to stop what I was doing and make them immediately. I had three kinds of ground meat in the fridge from the farmers' market. On Sunday and just pulled this recipe together based on what I already had here at home. Much to my surprise and delight, these exceeded any expectation I had and completely blew me away. I hope you love them as much as I do. 3 shallots, chopped.

Sea Salted: January 2010

http://sea-salted.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Julia knows her bread. One of my "Santa" presents this year (yes, we still do Santa in this family.) was a DVD collection of Julia Child's The Way to Cook. Series. Now, I'm not an insane. Julia fanatic ( Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Was on my shelf, admittedly, gathering dust, way before Julie and Julia. But I do love me some knife-banging, cream-logged, ooooo. Filled cooking every once in awhile. And there's no time like the new year for some indulgence, right? Trendy ...

i make me dinner

I make me dinner. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Just hours after not. Watching the gold-winning canadian olympic men's hockey game, (and 2 days after not. Watching the canadian women's), i am making these veggies (to follow) and dictating my blog post to myself in my head, not. Which gets me thinking; could this be it? Could this be the end of my grabbing to some scraps of what held me so close to my home and native land, and the beginning of me completely letting go and becoming, gulp, a bona fide ex-pat?
