http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 16, 2009. Judah arrives Nov 14, 2009. Although Bree and I woke up b/c she was having contractions, they slowed down so we celebrated a bit of Anna-Jane's birthday with her new kitchen. The midwife and assistant Dawn came, left for breakfast, then came back. About 11:45 am, labor got much more intense, and Robin and I took turns keeping Anna-Jane occupied. Bree got in the pool around 12:30, and he was born at 1:30pm. Here is Judah Benton Leonard. Thank you, Lord! Getting Ready for Judah.

Northern Notes: June 2011

Friday, June 17, 2011. I wrote this poem about my Dad, who was an amazing musical composer, band director/ professor, a sweet father, and a dedicated Christian. He died at 88 of Alzheimer's in 1998. The poem was published in. In 2002. Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I miss you! He was my daddy. And put me up on his shoulders. I watched him compose music that made my toes tap and my heart beat in drum rhythm. He directed bands and influenced souls. With his quiet Christian spirit. Then Alzheimer's slithered in.

Saturday, October 31, 2009. Water Disaster at the Northerns. You know what happens when a toilet just keep pumping water? Someone flushed the toilet in Robin's room, and it overflowed, apparently for several hours. If the light hadn't been left on and Larry hadn't gone to turn it off and discovered the problem, we'd have had an even bigger mess! To dry out everything. That first night was AWFUL- it was hot, noisy and like being in a wind tunnel! Here's the floor after some mopping up. The parents of the ...

Northern Notes: Farewell to Tomboy Ways aka And Then There Were Three
http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2012/09/farewell-to-tomboy-ways-aka-and-then.html
Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Farewell to Tomboy Ways aka And Then There Were Three. By Jane Chambers Greenwood, my grandmother. The edict had come from Mother that Lulu and Nina, at 16 and 13, were now too old to join in tomboyish games at school such as Town Ball or Stealing Goods. This last was a rough and tumble contest over piles of big pine burrs on each side of a line drawn across the sandy yard. The 2 girls must now wear ankle length skirts and no longer fight with boys. Or At the Mercy of Tiberius.

Northern Notes: March 2010
http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 14, 2010. Bree, Anna-Jane, and Judah visited a few weeks in February. We empty nesters often forget how BUSY toddlers can be. Anna-Jane is a busy kid, but thankfully not a whirling dervish, wrecking havoc in her wake. I wish I'd taken pictures of how she lined up the canned food in front of the pantry or her lineup of her 'little people,' also on the floor. She's funny! We have to watch that she doesn't strangle him with affection! Trip to Mayborn Museum- Boss helping Anna-Jane make a basket.

Northern Notes: More fun in the sum-sum-summertime.....
http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2010/07/more-fun-in-sum-sum-summertime.html
Thursday, July 1, 2010. More fun in the sum-sum-summertime. After putting Judah in the floating cooler (he liked it), Anna-Jane insisted on trying it out, too. Then she didn't want to leave it, until playtime friends came over. Bree and Judah- he stays upright really well in this floatie. They both love the water! I was disappointed that this sun flare got in the way, but all these expressions are just too cute! Nothin' like coolpops and cheetoes for a swim snack! Anna-Jane, Jeran, Jenna, and Jillian.

Northern Notes: January 2010
http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 19, 2010. I am a book hound. I LOVE to read, and I love books, and I'm now addicted to audio-books. I listen to them while in the car on the way to and from work as well as around town. Right now I'm listening to ". You Were Born for This. By Bruce Wilkinson, who wrote ". The Prayer of Jabez. And, I like light reading too. Mysteries especially. Not too complicated like Robert Ludlum (especially on audiobook- now who was Ron, who was mentioned 2 chapters ago? And, Robin told me about the.

Northern Notes: Kitchen Decisions
http://vickinlarry.blogspot.com/2011/11/kitchen-decisions.html
Monday, November 21, 2011. I've been looking at appliances, cabinet colors, tile, granite/soapstone/silestone/Corian/you name it, and where to put it all. We want to remodel our kitchen, but of course there are so many decisions to make before starting. Today I like this granite, but who knows if that will be the one that wins? Larry and I both liked cream/stained (or "inked") cabinets, so that probably won't change. But tiles? So many to view. So here are a few combos. What do you think?
