Great-Grandma Altena joined in on all the fun! One of Dylan's bugs - it was a really neat green color! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Count your many blessings. Name them one by one. See what God has done. Stuff in the Basement.

The Altena family: Part Two
http://draltena.blogspot.com/2015/08/part-two_2.html
The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Sunday, August 2, 2015. We celebrated Dylan's 5th birthday on July 10. He was excited to have a bug/worm theme. Grandma made her yummy individual "dirt" cakes and also a birthday cake. Dylan wasn't quite sure about us all singing to him that evening. But he was sure about opening presents! Aunt Hannah spoiled the kids by having sparklers that night. Dan was feeling quite left out back in California. We were counting down the days until he could join us. The Tr...

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Each month or so a few of us friends get together for an evening at someone's house. This time it was our turn to host. Kailee and Anika were great helpers and served us our dinner. The rest of the children had a babysitter. It was a beautiful perfect evening to have dinner outside. We are grateful for such a wonderful group to hang out with! Jonathan working on his game strategy. These local cherries were amazing! Wanting to go outside.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Little of this 'n that. Dan and I celebrated 15 years together on June 10! We even got to go out for dinner downtown that evening. It was a real treat to not have any kids with us. We all were involved with VBS at our church recently. Samantha loved it the most, I think. Difficult to get everyone in the picture! Anika and Kailee were given the task to paint baseboards. They did a really good job! Summer means swimming lessons! Double di...

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Sometimes I find creative papers around the house. . . This one is an instructional sheet for? We spent last weekend at Montecito Lodge in the Sequoias, which was about an hour and a half away. We played a lot of games since there was no TV or Internet. Yeah! Jonathan hung out on the bed most of the time. The highlight was the SNOW! Kailee and Anika have played in snow before, but this was a whole new adventure for Dylan and Samantha.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Thursday, October 30, 2014. I am not sure why I forgot to post this picture earlier with the others we took that day. But this is definitely one of my favorites. Daddy and his girls = so sweet! Sunday, October 26, 2014. These are random pictures from my phone. They really aren't in sequential order, but definitely show what's been going on by our house. Kailee and Anika created a "Candy Land" type game using these dice and our sidewalk. Pumpkin Patch class 101.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Sunday, March 15, 2015. Weekend Trip to Yosemite. Friday we headed up to Yosemite National Park (about 2.5 hours away) and stayed at a hotel just outside of the park entrance. This hotel was a perfect place for our kids. Not only did it have this train and a beautiful stream running past, but also a huge indoor pool that we practically had to ourselves. These trees are so beautiful right now. In our hotel room. Half Dome - Dan hiked to the top a few years ago.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Friday, January 23, 2015. Last week Kailee and Anika had book character day. Anika was (surprise! A veterinarian from the Critter Club books that she likes. Kailee was Hermoine from the Harry Potter series. I think this was Kailee's favorite day of the whole school year. Not only did she exude confidence, she was smiling from ear to ear as she also won the elementary bookmark contest that day as well. Especially nice on a Friday morning. Adventures in the Hills.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Sunday, September 21, 2014. Is it FALL yet? Jonathan is 2 months already. He is really a good baby, at the moment. I hardly dare state that because then he might change his sleeping habits (all night long! Our growing little boy. Still plenty warm here to do the splash park. I was sorting this week and came across this picture of when I was student teaching these Kindergartners at Des Moines Christian School. It's no wonder I decided I should teach a littl...
