http://dawnbeck.blogspot.com/2007/08/this-past-few-weeks-have-been-weeks-of.html
This past few weeks have been weeks of celebration. I graduate from the University of Michigan with my Masters of Social Work in the end of July with straight A's and flying colors! We arrived home on August 5th, our FIRST wedding anniversary and it was fun to celebrate that partially together. We will celebrate more next week. This has definately been a few weeks of joys, blessings, and fun times with people we love. Thanks to all who have made the past few weeks wonderful! I love and miss you!

This weekend we were able to enjoy time with family, friends, and our love of baseball. On Friday we drove to Toledo to see Mark Frens who works with the Minnesota Twins' AAA team. We watched him work with the guys and saw a good baseball game. Afterwards we spent some time together catching up and hanging out. It was great to see him. Today at U of M we had a dialogue about religion. I was in a small group of 5 people discussing many different aspects of religion and it sparked some great thought for me. Answer some of these questions truthfully. 1 I worry about the ramifications of disclosing my religious identity to others? 2 I can easily arrange to be in the company of people of my religion msot of the time? 4 I can be fairly sure that some hate group does not exist whose goal is to eradicate my religious group from the planet?

New Beginnings: June 2007

On Tuesday we did the Street Feed where we set up a table near a park and served food to all the homeless people around there. It was an amazing experience. I was able to watch our kids serve a meal to people who admitted to not having eaten in over 3 days. I also was able to talk with some people and hear about how they got to be in the place they were in. Posted by Justin and Dawn Beck @ Monday, June 25, 2007. How would I react? What a joy to know that many of our closest friends trained with us and on their own all the with the same goals. Who knows if I will ever run another race but it did remind me that taking care of our bodies is Spiritual. Being healthy is a way of praising God and knowing more about Him. I continue to be amazed at how everything I do leads me closer to my creator. Hopefully we will have more pictures to post as we get them from our committed cheering fans! Thanks to all who came out to cheer us on!
