Thursday, May 15, 2008. Need of skilled workers. There were only about sixty-five thousand temporary visas available for highly skilled foreigners for 2009. There are not enough H-1B visas available. Last year, when applications were turned in, it exceeded the limit on the first day. Since there were so many applicants, the subscription for visas were starting to be only once a year.
