What Just Happened Here?: Game Changer
http://allietown.blogspot.com/2010/06/game-changer.html
What Just Happened Here? Wednesday, June 16, 2010. I had every intention of writing something uplifting. Something witty. Something adorable. Something non-medical. Something about puppies and rainbows. But the nitty gritty over which I am forever stumbling made a surprise appearance this month, and I have to lay it all out here, because the information we received is a game changer. You might recall that Ben saw a geneticist. Yes 40 lashes to me. Ben has a rare chromosome disorder. Despite my scathing d...

What Just Happened Here?: August 2010
http://allietown.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
What Just Happened Here? Monday, August 30, 2010. You were scheduled to be born on a Wednesday. You surprised me by debuting on a Tuesday. I thought you would be a dark-haired replica of your brother. You surprised me, my little blondie. I guessed that you would weigh much less than your brother's 10 lbs, 7 oz. You surprised me by tipping the scales at 10.5. I waited for your gaze to follow my finger. You surprised me by staring right through me, into the distance. And thank you.). I struggled with the i...

What Just Happened Here?: March 2013
http://allietown.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
What Just Happened Here? Wednesday, March 6, 2013. End the Word. Please. Dude, that is so retarded. Do you ever say this, think it, hear others laugh as they chide their friends with it? This is a population of people who most times cannot fight back. To realize the pain they and their families experience as a result of hearing these words and to continue to use them is the most cowardly form of bullying. You will still hear jokes like, "I can count to potato." Am I supposed to be amused? Here’s wh...

What Just Happened Here?: November 2009
http://allietown.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
What Just Happened Here? Wednesday, November 18, 2009. The Griswolds Invade San Diego. We arrived late at night, checked into the Westin in the Gaslamp District, and plotted our daily activities. We decided to try one major attraction each day, and that worked perfectly. I love San Diego so much that I could live there. I especially like the way that someone comes and makes the beds and brings fresh towels. Oh, wait. Well, never mind. But I still love it! Day 1: San Diego Zoo. This was the best day!

What Just Happened Here?: July 2013
http://allietown.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
What Just Happened Here? Thursday, July 25, 2013. A Love Letter to Our Little School. Just a few short weeks ago, Ben packed his little preschool backpack and said so long to our favorite place in the world, the Frankie Lemmon School. I said a while back, before he even started, that this was a place that deserved its own post. Well, my time has not been my own over these past few years, so it's long overdue, but here it is. Pre-FLS Ben, having no idea about all the goodness about to come his way. Ben's ...

What’s new | Seamus O'Conner's Blog
https://seamusoconner.wordpress.com/2010/11/25/whats-new
Seamus O'Conner's Blog. The Olive Harvest 2010. On November 25, 2010. I haven’t posted in 12 days. What is going on? Today was a bit better, but large full rain clouds kept the sun from warming us up. I wore an old Irish wool sweater my mother bought in Dublin quite a few years ago. It’s still warm, but the moths have made it quite unattractive with the holes they’ve carved out of the fabric. I don’t care too much. I wear it with Irish pride. 9654; 2 Responses.
