Attack of the Activist!: October 2010
http://mandassassin.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 15, 2010. I'm so angry, I'm shaking. Or I'm scared. Or both, I suppose. I paused for a moment and said, as nicely as possible, "Excuse me, but there are people who need to use that space. [pause in which she gave me the hairy eyeball] That's pretty rude.". She says back to me nastily, "Well! I was only parked there to come talk to them [her friends] for like, five minutes! I said, "Well, thank me for talking to you nicely instead of calling the cops! I'll go move it! Probably because they...

Attack of the Activist!: Late Night Micro-Post II
http://mandassassin.blogspot.com/2011/03/late-night-micro-post-ii.html
Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Late Night Micro-Post II. You know, I try so very hard. Not to let pain rule my life. Not to complain. Not to make a big deal out of it to other people. Not long ago, I went to the sports medicine doc for my ankle injury and he was poking and prodding and it hurthurthurt. But I didn't scream and I didn't cry and I put on my blank face. But sometimes, I just want to curl up in a ball until it doesn't hurt anymore. And it is so fucking hard to admit that. MI, United States.

Feminists with Female Sexual Dysfunction. What is this war on women you speak of, and why should I care? 02/16/2012 at 6:02 pm Posted in Uncategorized. You may have noticed that there is a war on women being waged in the United States. It’s not a war (always) fought with weapons and explicit acts of violence (although violence against women is very much alive and well. A lady to express femininity, and thus to be perceived as womanly – and therefore in need of “Correction.”. The most talked about targets...

April 12, 2008. Bad assumptions people make in deciding what’s fair. 8212; judgesnineteen @ 1:18 pm. I just read a thread on Feministing. In which one commenter said that if a woman falsely accuses a man of domestic violence, she needs counseling, not jail, and another commenter replied that if the falsely accused was the first commenter’s son or friend, the first commenter would feel differently. So which is more important to you? The US citizen who’s ok with human rights violations of immigrants. The m...

May 23, 2009. People are not rational. 8212; judgesnineteen @ 4:21 am. I know we learn about this in psychology, that people pay more attention to what supports their biases than what challenges them, but I didn’t know it could go this far. Of course, maybe she’s thinking “Crap! I don’t know how to argue against that! Find a way out! Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. The “I think I’m ok, therefore I am” fallacy | Girly Thoughts
https://girlythoughts.wordpress.com/2009/01/23/the-i-think-im-ok-therefore-i-am-fallacy
January 23, 2009. The “I think I’m ok, therefore I am” fallacy. 8212; judgesnineteen @ 11:19 pm. It goes like this: someone brings up a type of oppression, and a member of the oppressed group says “I don’t believe in opposing what you’re talking about. I’m a strong enough person that I don’t need xyz/I believe I’m a person of worth even if xyz doesn’t happen.”. So, that’s one less argument I’ll be accepting in debates. 6 Comments ». So I may have already written about affirmative action, but I’m going to do it again because it’s my blog and I need the peace of mind that comes from making your argument in writing.
