Sunday, October 22, 2006. Muhammad Yunus, the father of micro lending, won the Nobel Peace Prize - a good choice, in my opinion. Micro lending is hugely successful in his country, Bangladesh. Many very poor people have raised their standard of living because of the small loans they would otherwise not be able to acquire.
