My Daily Life with BPD. Just another WordPress.com site. In Borderline Personality Disorder. Tags: Borderline Personality Disorder. I woke up more than once during the night, wet with sweat. I was nervous. I was scared so scared I had messed up so bad. I wanted to be able to say goodbye to Tim, and yet I feared he wanted nothing to do with me. I had thrown everything away that semester I mean EVERYTHING! 8217; I vowed to myself. ‘It just has to be! After signing the piles of paperwork I was given the oka...

Just another WordPress.com site. Negative thinking – new thoughts and diffusion →. Feelings, thoughts, and emotions. February 26, 2011. I’ve only been seeing my new therapist (NT) for a little while, and there’s been a pattern of me saying that I’m feeling – then adding an `emotion’ or a `thought’ – and her responding with, `where are you feeling it? What does it feel like? What color is it? Is it heavy, etc? Pulling all these words apart, here’s what I’m left with:. My homework this week – and if ...

Just another WordPress.com site. Feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Don’t believe everything you think. →. Negative thinking – new thoughts and diffusion. March 2, 2011. We can probably all agree that thinking negative things, especially about ourselves, can increase our negative emotions. That’s putting it nicely: Thinking negatively can really create a living hell. How can we stop? Challenging thoughts: This is a loooong one, girl! And you have stood it before, so remember to try to stay in the moment a...

Don’t believe everything you think. | Daily DBT

Just another WordPress.com site. Negative thinking – new thoughts and diffusion. Don’t believe everything you think. March 4, 2011. It was written on a bumper sticker and hanging in my ex-therapist’s office. And I remind myself of it every single day. If my day is filled with dark thoughts, I remind myself as often as I can. I’m tempted to write an entire post about the statement, but it just seems so `perfectly simple’ as it is. If you choose to remember the words, I hope they are helpful for you too.

Just another WordPress.com site. Newer posts →. The Diary card: good, bad and even ugly. February 18, 2011. If you’re like most folks doing some kind of dbt practice, filling out the diary card is…well…a pain the ass! And you may be experiencing a lot of resistance to filling it out, which (if you’re anything like me), you may be rationalizing so that it doesn’t sound or feel like resistance at all. Do you forget to fill out the card? Sigh* Damn diary card! Reminder messages on your phone or via email?

Dear Man, | The Mindful Mama
https://themindfulmama.wordpress.com/2010/08/22/dear-man
A journey from chaos to mindfulness…hopefully. In DBT Therapy we work on skills to help deal with – well, life. I had the opportunity this week to use a skill for “Interpersonal Effectiveness” when I met with my boss to discuss the upcoming year. Ummm, yay? Gah, I hate meeting with anyone that is in any authority over me. I get really emotional, easily upset, discombobulated and basically turn into a fool. I came prepared this time though. Woot! I came in knowing that well know and beloved DEAR MAN.
