To characterize existing conditions in the watershed and assess those conditions relative to various water quality and ecological standards. Best Management Practice (BMP) Evaluation:. To select BMPs and estimate their potential reduction in pollutant loading in the watershed. To estimate the water quality impacts of the BMPs and allocate these BMPs for achieving the required TMDL reductions in pollutant loading in the watershed. Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT).

A drainage area of 31 square miles. Includes Walnut Brook, First, Second and Third Neshanic River and the Neshanic River main branch immediately above the Back Brook entrance into the Neshanic River. Located in Hunterdon County. Includes parts of Delaware Township, East Amwell Township, Flemington Borough and Raritan Township. A tributary to the South Branch of the Raritan River. 40 percent of agricultural lands, the highest in the Raritan Basin.

WELCOME TO NESHANIC PROJECT WEBSITE. The watershed restoration plan details the management measures needed to achieve the required reduction in fecal coliform and attain water quality standards for total phosphorus and total suspended solids, reduce aquatic life impairments to a non-impaired level and assess the potential for restoring the base flow of the Neshanic River in the 31 square mile Neshanic River watershed. The Project Team submitted the Neshanic River Watershed Restoration Plan.
