Sunday, 13 February 2011. The majority of my Sunday afternoon was spent making cupcakes with a friend. Well actually, the vast majority of it was spent making sure said friend hadn't got icing in her hair or let chocolate melt on the underfloor heated kitchen tiles (and failing on both accounts). We used a simple fairy cake recipe for most of them, and then made an extra batch of chocolate ones with a gooey chocolate centre. My favourites have to be the ones with a cherry sat on top. Thursday, 17 February 2011. I have this old lamp but hate the shade so decided to try and update it. I removed the old shade and was left with this. I then got some plain thick paper and some designer wallpaper of skyscrapers. I wrapped the plain paper around the lamp first and cut it out bit by bit to get the right shape, and then I used it as a template to cut out the wallpaper. 17 February 2011 at 15:15. Thursday, 25 November 2010. I was given this dress by a good friend, but when I got it home I realised that it wasn't really my style. The fabric was so gorgeous and silky I couldn't let it go to waste, so I cut off the ruffles and made it into a top, and brought the sleeves in a bit. Saturday, 29 June 2013. Red and yellow and pink and blue. I've been to see how those tadpoles were getting on, and saw that the poppies in amongst the oil seed rape are looking better than ever. The tadpole numbers have diminished quite a lot, but that's not surprising because there's fish, ducks and the odd swan or two sharing the same water. I didn't see any little froglets out of the water yet, but these ones have only a stub of a tail left so I don't think it will be long. Saturday, 22 June 2013.
