Was filmed between 2009 and 2012 by director Jesse Burke, who died tragically at the age of 37, while the film was in early stages of post-production. Making the film was also a personal journey for Jesse as he met his wife, Maggie Ma Peter’s Chinese teacher and a chaperone during the APSA trip – during production. Their son was in December 2012, five months after Jesse’s death.
