Tuesday, December 23, 2014. It has been a long time since my last post - but really, how many beach and sunset shots can I post before it is just cruel? We did have our first northern visitor in early December. Lee came down from Indianapolis and found a moment for photography on the pier. We enjoyed the local lighting of the Christmas tree at the beach-side park that also included a parade of golf carts down the highway past the largest building in town - the El Governor hotel. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Year-Long Vacation - Mexico Beach. The last few weeks were busy - selling our condo, finding a Mexico beach condo to rent and since I quit smoking I had that pressure too. At least the repeated trips up and down stairs should be easier. OK, you can tell from the picture there is a street between us and the beach but why quibble over a few dozen feet? Soft, white sand and clear, emerald water makes for a happy wife and isn't that what's important in life?

Tuesday, December 31, 2013. I used an old saying on a previous blog that is quite apropos now: "Life is what happens when you are making plans". Our tours of far away and out-of-touch places is being put on hiatus for a few years. We are making plans to buy an RV and make a few loops around the USA. Some day you may wake up and find an RV in your driveway. Be careful what you wear when you charge out the door. I do love a good action picture for the blog. De Anne and wish all of you a Happy New Year!

Sunday, July 5, 2015. One last beach walk before traveling north to greet Tristan returning from his tour of duty. We are now in Arlington VA at Tristan's apartment next to the Potomac River. He was in this building last year and wanted back in again, so he rented it, sight unseen, over the Internet - from the other side of the world. Tristan does not land in the US until Tuesday, but De Anne and I came early to set the place up, avoid Fourth of July traffic, and play tourist. View my complete profile.

Friday, May 29, 2015. We entered Canada across the International bridge from Detroit, passing over to the right side of the Detroit river. After a quiz about guns, liquor, and tobacco which we seemed to pass, the only comment from the border agent was that he would be glad to go live in our home if we would take over his job. Terry and Brenda spent a few days giving us a familiarization tour of the area before embarking on their Alaskan cruise, leaving their dog, Koby, to our tender mercies.
