Wednesday, February 22, 2012. My Boy is 5. Wait! How is it possible? Five is a big deal. I can clearly remember my fifth birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. I remember my little aqua shirt, my pig tails, getting my first Barbie and all my friends who came. I even remember my mom giving me an IOU birthday present. Ha! She was a busy lady (and a great mama). It was a picture of a plastic swimming pool that I would be arriving in time for warmer weather. That still makes me chuckle. My Boy is 5. Wait!

If you're an early bird, plan-ahead kind of girl just like me (ha- yeah right), and thinking about Christmas gifts, here's a sweet idea for the kids' teachers or a girlfriend who likes to read. Make a lovely, personalized bookmark. If you are giving a book or journal, wrap it up in brown craft paper and attach the bookmark to the front in place of a bow. How cute is that? Saturday, February 12, 2011. It's Official: My Baby is a Big Boy {4th Birthday Party}. Four years ago, I remember where I was. oh mercy. The eight pound baby that I held in my arms is four years old today. We had a lovely little celebration with zero mushy-mommy-tears. I was a very brave girl. Our family ate at a local Mexican food place so this child could order a great big plate of his favorite food. Enchiladas (is that normal for a four year old? While he wore a cute little sombrero and * blushed* .

It's hard for me to trust strangers with my kids, and even harder to know if the choices that you are making will affect them long term. Is it even good for them that I am so busy?
