Self-determination. Decisions are made locally, by the residents who will be affected by them. Currently 4 out of 5 Placer County Supervisors live in the foothills, 70 miles away. Most tax and Transient Occupancy Taxes (TOT) generated locally will be kept and used locally, not in Auburn. Any new TOT from future developments, which will be significant, will be controlled by the new Town. A locally elected Town Council can respond promptly to residents’ need for new or improved services.
