From the Ground: War stories
http://confutus2.blogspot.com/2007/07/war-stories.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, July 23, 2007. I have to wonder what Senator Reid is up to. Twice in the past month, on the Immigration Reform bill, and then on the recent Iraq withdrawal bill, he's tried to take a thin majority and ram it through the opposition. And all this comes at a time when news coming out of Iraq (although that's mixed and contradictory enough) indicates to be that the "surge" and the counterinsurgent strategy that has gone along with it appears to be working.

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Lately I've been waking up with dreams of big shouting arguments with family members; (are ex-in-laws considered outlaws? And a couple of my brothers. Apparently my mind still wants to say the kind of things I usually manage to keep behind my teeth. I'm also going to try to include more links to others sites here. One of them, related to what I'm trying to do is the Job Hunter's Bible. Posted by Confutus @ 7:51 AM 0 comments. Ever since I st...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, September 27, 2004. I found the Morgantown student ward and make contact with the LDS Church and attended meetings there Sunday. This served for this week, but I should probably be attending the regular ward, and still need to make contact there. I have been staying nights at the Bartlett House, but the "downstairs" is only a nighttime shelter, and I can't leave my backpack there which makes it awkward for. Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, November 22, 2004. For a change, I decided to go back to my bridge between world history and local events. To a significant extent, history serves to unify and give perspective to other topics. Posted by Confutus @ 12:58 PM 0 comments. Links to this post. Friday, November 19, 2004. Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, August 30, 2004. I found a park and stayed there for the night, intending to visit the branch campus of Indiana University - Purdue University -Columbus. It was overcast, cool, and windy, but stayed dry. Posted by Confutus @ 7:36 AM 0 comments. Links to this post. Saturday, August 28, 2004. That's Nashville, Indiana, not the larger and more famous Nashville, Tennessee. But more about that later. I passed by Yellowwood National (? And one of Indiana's largest park...

Confutus Says: January 2008
http://confutussays.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 28, 2008. Gordon B. Hinckley. I had long been impressed with President Hinkley's manner: his unflinching denunciation of abuse of family, pornography, and other modern ills; his good humor, and his optimism. I remember thinking and even saying that if there was such thing as a man of God, he was one. Links to this post. Saturday, January 26, 2008. I don't know what it is that causes some blogs to take 3 and 5 minutes to load sometimes. It's a royal pain. Links to this post. Two were sched...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Ed Morrissey at "Captain's Quarters" pointed to this article in the Washington Post about Outsourcing the Picket Line. To anyone even vaguely familiar with the American labor movement and and its history and rhetoric, this has to be supremely ironic. Posted by Confutus @ 6:01 PM. Comments: Post a Comment. Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Saturday, February 02, 2008. Since it's been several months since I posted to this blog, I thought I might as well make it official that it's dead. I began this with my trip across the country, but that chapter of my life has long since closed and I'm in a new one. However, I haven't given up blogging: In fact, I'm running two other blogs:. Is where I describe work on my knowledge base. And any other educational topics. Posted by Confutus @ 11:22 AM. Links to this post:.

http://confutus2.blogspot.com/2007/08/for-some-reason-i-seem-to-have-become.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, August 06, 2007. For some reason, I seem to have become obsessed with the War Story I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. To do a proper writeup with sources would involve more research than I want to devote the time for, so I'm just going to mention it. All this at the same time his party is calling for withdrawal from Iraq. He's managed to make himself look like he's trying to be a saint on one hand, a bully on the other, and really is dangerously ignorant or ...

From the Ground: Islam

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, July 09, 2007. I was going to write something more or less patriotic for the 4 th. Of July, but nothing quite sounded right, and I've been swept up in other things. My impression of Islam has generally been more favorable than not, but lately it's been taking a beating. Before I express any solid opinions about it, I need do what I would encourage critics of Mormonism to do.Read the book; don't rely on someone else's. Posted by Confutus @ 9:40 AM.
