Monday, October 31, 2005. Here's a pic of my friend Sly's cat. The most chilled cat I've ever seen. A little heavy on the pounds too, thus her appropriate name: Fatso. Posted by mogs at 9:04 PM. ceilingzero: September 2005
http://ceilingzero.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2005. Today marks the end of the third week being in Mumbai. I'm gradually settled here and Honolulu is seeming further and further with each passing day. So far, I can say that I've been pretty lucky here. I've received lots of help along the way - from getting the office set up, to having a comfortable home to stay in, plus a super great neighbour who also helps me with translation every now and then. It's a wonderful thing how after not being in touch for years with someone, yo...

ceilingzero: June 2005
http://ceilingzero.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2005. So, getting back to the issue of identity.on a lighter note.here's a short story. Before I proceed to the story, let me paint the scene. So, on Tuesday evening, I decide to go to this store to get some papads and gulab jamuns.you see.Lavi was making parathas at home so we decided to go all out for the full course meal. So, my clumsy ol self hesitated and blurted out something to the extent of "uhhhhhhh.born in India, grew up in Ghana.etc). Posted by mogs at 10:28 AM. It's based i...

Sunday, July 31, 2005. Livin' it up on Nahua Street! Last to last Sunday, Lavi had cooked some Punjabi style thick dal and luckily, we had leftovers. The following Monday, I went to visit some Indian friends of mine, one of whom had just returned from Bombay. So at home that night with all these wild food options. The dilemma: Our kitchen counter with these exotic foods but not an appropriate container to eat them in. What to do? Without further adieu, here are some pics from our Monday adventure. If the...

Bits & Pieces: Outliers by Malcom Gladwell
http://avinsamtani.blogspot.com/2010/08/outliers-by-malcom-gladwell.html
Added On: Saturday, August 28, 2010. Outliers by Malcom Gladwell. Outliers is a fantastic read. If Gladwell started out this book with the intention of changing one's perspective on how success is achieved, he has without a doubt succeeded. An interesting bit in this book is as personal as it gets, Gladwell's breakdown of his mother as an outlier. A set of perfectly timed events centuries ago that result in her ending up in Canada. Thursday, November 17, 2005. I'm so happy for Ghana as a nation that they've qualified for the first ever WC. Sometimes, it still seems blur. Growing up over there, there was always promise that one of Africas all time best teams on the domestic stage would make it to the global areana. But the promises failed to materialise due to odd number of reasons, which I won't get into. The national team is known as the Black Stars. Posted by mogs at 10:44 PM. The seeding system loopholes. How teams are seeded.

Added On: Monday, November 16, 2009. IN THE SHADOW OF THE GOLDEN BOY. When Oscar De La Hoya hung up his gloves for good this past February, it prompted the immediate question to fight fans - "Who will be the next Oscar? The answer may be not as obvious as it seems.
