连铸电磁搅拌器可以配置于连铸过程中的不同阶段,其基本原理是通过电磁感应物理过程来达到搅动钢液流动,最终改善铸坯质量的目的. 比如结晶器电磁搅拌器(M-EMS)用于控制结晶器内的钢液流动从而改善铸坯表面质量; 末端电磁搅拌器(F-EMS)通常在方坯连铸生产中用于控制靠近凝固末端的钢液流动,改善铸坯内部组织结构从而减少中心偏析及中心缩孔,增加等轴晶率. 拥有自行开发的电磁搅拌器设计方案, 其优点在于在相同的搅拌功率下能节省30%左右的电力. 采用该设计制造的搅拌器已经成功地在国内某钢厂使用. 连铸电磁制动设备用于控制从连铸结晶器浸入式水口射出的钢水流动, 通过电磁感应物理过程产生的电磁力抑制向下的流动并产生向上的回流. 最终达到减少铸坯夹杂缺陷的冶金效果.电磁制动技术特别应用于薄板坯和高拉速连铸.
