January 18, 2008. Book Review: Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. Filed under: Book Reviews. 8212; Chun Wee @ 1:23 am. One of the finest examples of historical fiction is undoubtedly Gates of Fire. Tells a story most of us are familiar with, particularly after the high-profile release of the movie 300. The trouble with writing a book about such a well-known event, of course, is that everyone already knows what your work is going to be about. They most definitely know how it is going to end. How,...More ...

La Dee Dah!: Sometimes, it's worth it...
http://cebucw.blogspot.com/2010/08/sometimes-its-worth-it.html
A place for me to air my views, and maybe my armpits. Sunday, August 1, 2010. Sometimes, it's worth it. It has been a really long week and I clocked less than 24 hrs of sleep over 7 days. But I've been really blessed and a series of good things have come my way. Currently in Jakarta now where I'll be spending the next 4 days. Got sent over here because the analysts are all on holiday and I'm the only one staffed on this live deal. Isn't life but a give and take? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://cebucw.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
A place for me to air my views, and maybe my armpits. Saturday, May 29, 2010. I know that there's still awesome tequila in my bloodstream and that it is 5:17am in the morning. But I know what I want in life. I really do. I want to be on stage. I want to act. I want to pleasure my audience. To elicit laughs, tears, joy, sadness, the whole spectrum of emotions. Saturday, May 22, 2010. I wished I was still in the States. Available on www.Giltman.com. Be still my beating heart. Wednesday, May 19, 2010.

A place for me to air my views, and maybe my armpits. Friday, August 27, 2010. I am now, a statistic. Yes, a job awaits me when I graduate next year. I've been extended an offer. Counterfactuals in History – An Introduction. | A Wrong Turn.
https://awrongturn.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/counterfactuals-in-history-an-introduction
October 19, 2007. Counterfactuals in History – An Introduction. 8212; Chun Wee @ 1:19 am. In my introductory essay, I remarked that history can turn on a coin. Franz Urban could have easily avoided making his fatal mistake of June 28. To speculate on all these possibilities is to step into the arena of counterfactual history. History is the tale of what happened; counterfactual history is the story of what. If It Had Happened Otherwise. Virtual History: Alternatives and Counterfactuals. At roughly the sa...

History: What it is and why we need it. | A Wrong Turn.
https://awrongturn.wordpress.com/2007/10/15/history-what-it-is-and-why-we-need-it
October 15, 2007. History: What it is and why we need it. 8212; Chun Wee @ 10:59 pm. Sarajevo, June 28. Somehow, throughout the day, all fail; but just as their cause seems lost, Fate intervenes. Deciding to visit the wounded victims of one of these attempts, Franz Ferdinand orders his driver, Franz Urban, to head for the city hospital. The driver is unfamiliar with the route dictated by Bosnian Governor, General Oskar Potiorek, and makes a wrong turn. But let us leave aside this apparent problem for the...

Friday, October 12, 2007. I dislocated my shoulder AGAIN. The circumstances were eerily similiar. I was playing in the Mixed Doubles Badminton Competition on Wednesday when the unfortunate accident occurred. Haiz. The thing that struck me was how similiar my latest dislocation was with my very first back at NYJC. 1 Both were during competitions. NYJC Inter-Lit class and now SMU's Mixed Doubles Competition. 3 Poor Adam was with me for both incidents, and had to see me in agony twice. Is this a curse?

Tuesday, January 30, 2007. All right. I made it home alive, everything intact despite going through a war zone in school for the past 2 days. The rumour was true. Class 3D is really a naughty class. To say that they are naughty is perhaps an understatement, coz it's really hard to find a single word to describe them. First day in school was almost like a welcome ceremony for me as they opened a new week with MASS yesterday. And i sang Mari Kita for the first time in 2 years! And the school song! Me: Okie...
