For Scouts, Guides and organised Groups camping in Dorset. Camping site ( map Ref: SZ 010850 ) is also on Goathorne Farm and extends to nearly 50 acres, Scotch pine, heather and grass predominate. It is fairly flat and well sheltered and this free draining site is also an SSSI, the occupants have shared use of the reservoir for canoeing, raft building, rope bridges etc.
Cleavel Point camping site

Map ref: SZ 001861 ) is a pretty flat triangular shaped field of approximately 15 acres on OWER farm, boarded on two sides by Poole harbour with a good launching beach for canoes and sailing dinghies . The field can accommodate two large groups and is very popular with groups returning year after year, some recording 30 years of continuos visits.

For Scouts, Guides and organised Groups camping in Dorset. This fresh water heats up with the weather and becomes nicely warm. This lake is also shared with any group occupying the common site. The site is within walking distance of Studland beach.

For Scouts, Guides and organised Groups camping in Dorset. We have farmed Ower and Goathorn farms for nearly 20 years now producing top quality beef via a suckler heard ( the calves stay with their mothers until 10 months old) and are then weaned and graze separately, and breeding race horses both for flat and national hunt racing. Many troops return every four years with new entrants, though some return every year and some have notched up thirty years of continuos visits! We must be doing something right.

If cooking with wood, at all three sites you MUST. Use altar Fires. Please ensure that the ground beneath the fire is not scorched in any way. The water on both farms is from a well and not inexhaustible please turn taps off and boil water before drinking!
