In Every Story: January 2013
http://ineverystory.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 9, 2013. The strangest thing happened today. We were interviewing an applicant for our open position of staffing coordinator when I asked why he wanted to work at IES, and he said, "well, I've been reading your blog and…". The single greatest thing that anybody has ever told me is when one of my mentors asked me, rhetorically, in reference to IES, "Derek, is it possible you'll make mistakes? Do I think it's possible that Jadaveon Clowney and Jesus have a lot in common?

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. The First Job: A Start. After our first day we had somebody Quit. Finally, after more than a year, we have our first job—and then somebody who I had assumed needed work—apparently didn’t. I know that these things will happen. The faster we learn to deal with them the more successful we’ll be. I’ve been learning a lot:. It’s exciting to be here. Praise the Lord! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Grill or Something Else. In Every Story: August 2010

Monday, August 2, 2010. Waiting Rooms Change in an Instant. Waiting rooms change in an instant. And that’s about the best thing I can say about them. Let me tell you about mine. There was a fantastic Seacoast sermon. But they can also only change through more waiting. Today, like almost every other day for the past several months, I called Joe Riley’s assistant to find out if there was any news, and this time the news was surprisingly good. Our case is finally making it to the front lines.

Meditation Time
Sunday, January 30, 2011. Joyce Meyer: Be Determined. You have to be a child of the living God not a grandchild. Be determined to have your own relationship with God. Every day is a new beginning with God. His mercy is new every morning. When people mistreat us we used to think something is wrong with us. But God gave me His righteousness. I'm a new creature. God has arranged for us to have a good life. I have decided to be determined that I'm not going to give up as long as I breath. God did not create ...

Thankful For
Monday, March 17, 2014. Grace on Marginless Mornings. Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Miraculous seems like such a heavy word. But if I take it down to the "every day" miraculous of life the beginnings of the list would be:. 1- Marriage. I don't know that I'm one who's really "built" for marriage and one who didn't really think marriage would be something I'd do. But my marriage to LK is, while I'd don't believe in "the one," a miracle from God that I am very much thankful for. Saturday, December 15, 2012.
With Purpose In Every Step
View my complete profile. Good News, Bad News. Friday, February 28, 2014. In the old days, G would wake up on a Saturday morning, crash open my bedroom door, and rush into my bed to snuggle. This past Saturday, I woke up and there was no sign of G. Until I looked down and found him snuggled up sleeping in the dog bed with Cooper. I’ve been replaced. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Good News, Bad News. We got a dog! Cooper’s “mix” part seems to trump his “mastiff/gentle” part. G was a great passenger! G: Mo...

4 MONTHS POST LEMTRADA UPDATE. June 30, 2015. It’s now been four months since I started Lemtrada to treat Multiple Sclerosis! You can read more about my journey with MS here. Overall, I feel so much better than I did before treatment! To be honest there are hours at a time that I forget I have the disease, and that is an amazing feeling! I also learned that when I do things like run 22km, I pay for it for the next week. Just because I can doesn’t always mean I should! My hearing is still only at about 50...

Our Life Together
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Monday, October 30, 2017. Our last day at Disney was spent at the Magic Kingdom, of course! It was hot, as in sweltering, melting, hot! It was also crowded which didn't help! First thing we did was get our picture in front of the castle, before we looked hot and sweaty! After the ride, we got in line to meet her. Our trip to Disney as a family of 4 was perfect for us. Disney World is magical, especially when you see it through your kids eyes!

Trusting God
Trusting God By Jerry Bridges. In an effort to strengthen his own trust in God during a time of adversity, Jerry Bridges began a lengthy Bible study on the topic of God's sovereignty. What he learned changed his life and he now shares the fruit of that study with us. Jerry will show how all of us experience adversity at different times in our lives. It comes in many forms - sudden pain, sickness, traumatic experiences, devastating losses - and we ask God, "Why us? Why is God allowing this?
